this just does not add up.

It certainly doesnt. It'd probably take 7 years to make back the 450mil alone.

I was under the impression that Rafa, Stevie and Carra had met these DIC“s and liked what they said and were happy about it?!? I think this article is not revealing all or is making assumptions.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Some of the article makes little sense. It says there will be no investment in players which is madness. If they do want to sell the club in seven years they will be looking to sell the club as a worldwide brand which can only be bred by success on the pitch aswell as off. Both work hand in hand. In the premiership to be successful we need to be able to compete financially with Utd and the Chavs. We need to be able to buy worldclass players. If we cannot do this then in 7 years all that will have changed is where the season ticket holders watch the game on a saturday afternoon!!
          Dare we believe

Investment groups like this buy struggling companies, turn them into profitable enterprises, then sell them on for a profit.

At the moment, LFC does not make a whole load of money. Commercially, LFC is a bit of a joke - how many times do people moan on here about the lack of marketing nouse from those runnning the club.

What DIC want is to turn LFC into a business a bit like Man Utd in the 90s. If the business becomes profitable, DIC will get some return on their investment in the form of dividends, and more money will be available for players.

If in 7 years time, LFC is making as much money as Man Utd or Real Madrid, DIC will sell their stake, which will be worth significantly more than it is now. To me, the rate of return mentioned in the article relates to the projected value of the club in 7 years, rather than the profit they want to make from the day to day business.

This all makes sound commercial sense to me.

People here have also jumped on this quote

"There appear to be no plans to invest in new players."

That is quite clearly the author's subjective opinion. Transfer startegy probably wasn't mentioned in the document, as it is not so relevant to investors.
              Oh I don't know.

I`d imagine that Carra and SG knows very little about this sort of things. Rafa knows a lot about general football business, but this on a entirely different level.
I`m pretty sure DIC could spin a very good story about a future with them without most people being able to see any faults.

Maybe we should set Robbie on case, or is he only into houses?

We need business people at the club.

DIC's financial success runs parallel to the success of Liverpool FC on the pitch, therefore i dont think there is anything to worry about.

This also doesn't add up to how DIC run their businesses. When they have bought other companies they have bought them with the goal to make them the best in the World.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                      Best what in the world?

How can you ever say that Travelodges will be the best hotels in the world. They are clearly not. They are budget accomodation. DIC bought them to make money out of them.
                      Oh I don't know.

The thing is what best in world are they looking at, best football club or best football club to invest in. There is a big difference, and i`m not sure they look at the same thing as us.

It wouldn't suprise me if there was another bid from another source
Whats the saying ???if it sounds too good to be true, then it often is

the journo has a good reputtation so I can see some truth in this.
DIC are an Investment company and are only innit to make money not to win our hearts.

I hope parry and Co look into this matter asap as a 7 year investment is not a good deal. a 7 year itch

All right, going off topic a bit then. Other than Premier Travelodge, can you name another national accommodation chain that can give you what they give you? Cheap, clean, no frills business accommodation. They do it very well. Thought, not perfect.

Yeap, DIC bought them to make cash out of them, that's the way investment works.

I actually agree with other posters on this topic. If they are going to see a 7 year return then they have to make the brand successful. Not just in the UK, but abroad as well. To do that, the ONLY way to do that, is to WIN things. It's unlikely we're going to win much consistently with what we've got, so there needs to be some investment in the product ie better players, new stadium etc.

Anyway, do you think the Glazer's bought into the Scum because of their love of Manchester and prawn sandwiches? Nah, they, like Learner and everyone else, including possibly Abramovich over a longer period, have invested to make money.

                              Let's quit worrying.

This has come right out of the blue and I'm a little suspicious TBH.

We all know well that there are some people who don't want this takeover to happen for one reason or another and will and have tried to cause mischief to try and derail it.

So I'll just wait to see what happens in regards to an official response from the club or DIC themselves before I make up my mind on wheter it is true or not.
