Why would we want or need to sell Xabi?

Why get rid of possibly the best passer in Europe, it's not as if we're in desperate need of cash is it? Especially not for 14mil anyway.

We aren't a selling club and we want to keep our best players, and lets be honest here Xabi is one of the best and has been a mom contender the last couple of weeks.

ones who will a. get by players
      b.
      whip in decent crosses
      and c.
chip in with their fair share of goals

nothing wrong with alonso ,half of europe would bite our hands for him
and and its a big and,hes still only just gone 25, hes about to start coming into his prime
This is the thing ronan, we go out and buy some players, spend some money and a year later, we're still missing what we went out to try and buy.

Rafa can't exactly go out and sign another left winger before he knows how fit Kewell will be when he is match fit again. If Kewell won't be fit enough then it's the time for Rafa to sign a new left winger.

Rafa should have signed Alves and kept Pongolle last summer instead of signing Pennant and Bellamy. It's easy to say that now when we have seen that Pennant isn't good enough.

Bellamy have been very good the latest games but Pongolle have also been playing good in Spain.

The question that we never will get the answer to is if Alves would have been more important to our team this season than Bellamy?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yeah but Pongolle was never good enough for us and for all you know Alves might have flopped. Easy comments to make, but they bare no relevance to reality.

Pongolle is and would have been infinitely better than Pennant.

As for Alves, ANY player 'might' flop. That doesnt (or shouldnt) stop us from recognising the better ones and signing them, instead of the mediocre ones.

Flo couldn't play better than JP on the wing, he's already shown that. Would Flo have 5 assists by now? Doubt it.

Anyways everyone knows SG is our first choice right midfielder

Pongolle is no better winger than Pennat at all and he certainly no way near as good as Bellamy.

Who knows how good he would have been for us if he had played as a striker and played as many games as Bellamy have done for us?

Pongolle have showed how good he is in Spain playing more or less every game.

Yes and Nando is scoring every other game. If you watched Pongolle play for us he was not good enough.

He didn't play week in week out like Bellamy does and it's very hard for a player to impress when he is playing one or two times a month and when he play then he just plays for around 30 minutes.

If a bid was placed I'm sure Rafa wouldn't allow him to go.

Yes he gets to play now because he is at a **** side in a league where he will find it easier to play. But was still never good enough for us, no matter how much mud you have in your eyes.

Xabi is good - but not as effective as Momo.
Just watch when the opposition midfield has the ball - have a look to see who's the first man out to meet them - and force them to play sideways instead of forward. Momo is the ball winner - xabi is the ball player IMO and in Rafa's opinion as well.
That's the problem though, Momo is best at coming out to win the ball. Xabi wins more tackles whilst remaining in position and is a fantastic passer of the ball at the same time. As much as I love Momo he is nowhere near as good or important to us as Xabi IMO.
