This is on the FA. Why didn't they eliminate replays when the winter break was announced? Teams are supposed to take this break seriously aren't they? No friendlies, etc.? Not hard to see this coming.

It's maybe not relevant to us in our current position but it's important for historical reasons and more importantly it's important for smaller clubs for many reasons.

Not just the clear financial benefits of being drawn against a big club like us but the excitement for their supporters and the stories and history it creates for them.

Considering our traditional background as a club and supporter base of being left leaning I think it's a shame that it's come to this and that we cannot support the FA Cup for the sake of the smaller clubs to whom it's the equivalent of a Champions League final.

I completely understand Klopps point of view and he can do no wrong within our supporter base the moment so he's a very powerful voice.

However, I'm not sure he fully understands the significance and importance of the FA Cup in the English pyramid system. It's part of our great success as a nation in maintaining such a strong system full of well supported clubs with heritage and history at all levels.

Obviously our priority has to be the league and CL but I hope a compromise can be reached and that we don't forget the smaller clubs.

If clubs like Liverpool abandon the FA Cup it will destroy an important part of what makes the English league system so strong and unique.

Klopps job is to do what’s best for Liverpool FC. That means PL and CL take priority- anything else is either a bonus or a consolation prize. He has ZERO duty to any other clubs.

I agree that it’s a shame that the FA cup isn’t taken as seriously these days, by a lot of PL clubs, but it’s up to the FA to try to fix that- not Klopp.
        I don't tip

The problem is the organisational cluster **** that runs football. We have the FA the PL and the EFL all running competitions with no clear guidance over who is in charge over issues like fixture congestion and breaks. The international picture is the same. Football needs better organisation at all levels.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

What makes the English Premier League so strong is the global fanbase and overseas broadcasts not domestic cups that carry no prize money or European prestige.

The FA cup is almost irrevelant to the big boys, and to a large percentage of the fanbase.

The CL, EL and the league will always come first so while the FA won't adapt and cut back on the out-dated replays, I'm fully behind Klopp.

Why didn't the FA keep this week free to fill with replays where necessary? We face WHU twice in a short spare and could've happily met them nearer the end of the season

Two legged league cup, FA cup replays etc. It's their failing, not ours. But, this sort of **** really pisses JK off. I just hope he channels this and continues to fight the FA instead of getting such the hump that it drives him away.

Less games would be the real solution but I doubt the clubs would want less games as it would equal less revenue too

But the revenues are only revelant really for the Football League clubs, if you offer us a chance to make 150,000 pounds a round or just skip it, I'd wager we'd just skip it.

The difference in a league position can be almost ten times that, it's not worth losing a single point to most teams.

Yeah, ok, guess we're on about the same thing then. Bin the replays is a start, I reckon if we had extra time and pens, Shrews would have knocked us out, fair and square.

I don't know how much it is clubs and how much it if the football bodies, FA run the FA Cup, EFL run league Cup. The high profile games involve PL clubs over which the have little control. Reducing games in these competitions reduces their power and their revenue.

The FA & EFL wanna be careful that they don't piss off the big boys in the Premier League as they need them clubs in their competition...Who wants to see an EFL final with Tranmere Rovers vs Wigan or a FA Cup final with Barnet vs Macclesfield?...get my point?
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It would appear that some sections of the media have been waiting for an excuse to get stuck into us and Klopp.

                              Klopp should manage the game.

He hasn't given a reason yet why he shouldn't participate, only first team players.

He's making a stand but it's not a good look.

He’s clearly booked a break with his missus.
