Barnes for 2 seasons was simply the best player I've ever seen. He danced and glided on pitches like veg patches and people trying to kick him on the pitch and abuse him off it. Legend.

It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

3 seasons surely? 87-88, 88-89, 89-90?
89-90 he started drifting more across the forward line in a more free role than being mostly down the left. Joke that David Platt beat him to the PFA Award that year.
Barnes was a better player before his injury. Although its been a while. Mane can blow hot and cold. I seem to remember Barnes being more consistant... but even then few games were on the telly
Less games on TV for sure but from 88-89 every Division 1 match had cameras and every goal was shown on TV. Before then the majority of matches had no cameras iirc. For example, the LFC video of 87-88, The Mighty Reds, had goals from less than half of the games. Match of the Day in those days had only two matches and nothing else.

Yes 3 seasons, my mistake.
That bloody achilles injury playing for England against Finland I think. ****ed him. Held a grudge against the national team ever since.
