    And take Naby off.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Some suggestions floating around on social media that Barca don't want to pay what we want for Diaz so will make a move for Rashford instead
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I prefer to forget he even played for us (but he wouldn't be in the high £30m+ fees, even though wit was alot of money we paid for him at the time)

Carroll was from the Comolli days and Benteke was signed against the advice of Ian Graham but Brendan wanted him.

Fun fact - Christian Benteke is still Crystal Palaces record signing......9 years after signing him!!!

So although he was a disaster for us on the pitch, I think we got something like 30m back for him - which enabled us to sign Mane for similar money.

                ****in crazy ha ha!!!

I remember saying at the time that Brendan should have been sacked for pushing for Benteke. He rocked up from Swansea with his PowerPoint presentation on how we were going to play.....it was all tippy tappy inspired by Barca. He even got the Welsh xavi to help him achieve it. We started Brendan's first season with carroll discarded because he didn't suit our style of play and only Borini brought in. For him then to push for Benteke a couple of years later was proof that he had lost the plot imo

I actually have it on good authority that Brendan's ego got awfully large when he first joined Liverpool and it was never reined in either, same after he won the FA Cup with Leicester- a massive billy big bollocks if there ever was one.
I make no apologies, this is me

He came pretty damn close to legendary status in 2013 to be fair. If only he'd been able to be a little conservative in his approach when it was sorely needed

Sorry I thought we were talking about big money signings in general

I thought we were talking about the hit rate for Michael Edwards and his team(s)

Bit of a sliding doors moment. You have to wonder what would have happened if we had won that league. Would he have had more of a clue what do do with Bobby Firminho? Would we have even signed him? He would have got sacked eventually but would Jurgen have been available then?

£69m for a player approaching 29 that we signed for £40m isn’t bad business. Pays for more than half of Isak.
