He's got the hunger and guile ....brilliant

If we can pull another jota out of the hat during the next transfer window I'd start feeling more confident. Terrific little player.

12 League games (not all starts) 6 goals.
21 games in total 10 goals.

Some player we have here.

Genuine front 3 competition/rotation. If I can be really greedy Id sell Shaq and Div and try to get someone of a similar level - Depay in a free would be good

It's a little better than that.

13 league games, 8 goals

22 games in total, 12 goals.

100%

Rich 03-04-21 10:46 PM

Yeah hes as much as a threat as Mane and Salah. Unbelievable business to get him so cheap.

Fantastic goal scorer with much more to come.

I thought the wiki lot were real time updating.

Yeah thats immense

Dodged a bullet with Timo Werner. Bought Jota, nobody was that excited. And hes infinitely better. Love our transfers

Front 4 if Bobby plays 10. Which he looks very suited to.

Thanks to hindsight being 20/20, I much prefer Jota. However I think if we have gotten Werner that he would have done well for us.

He is a far better player than his Chelsea showing to date. Think he would have added a bit of snide to our front line had we brought him in and that he has the sort of quality that Klopp would have had shining for us.

For as long as he is at Chelsea though I hope he remains blunt in front of goal, and I also hope he plays no part in being part of any merry go round of transfers that allows the likes of Haaland or Martinez to join Chelsea or another rival English club.

Think this is the fist time I've opened a football related thread since December.

Jota.

Roll on Tuesday.

badpiggy 04-04-21 01:53 PM

I know Mane wasn't in a position to get the shot off for the 3rd goal but Jota's drive and attitude for the taking the shot is exactly what we need. In fact it's exactly what Salah, Firmino and Mane need to be up against in training right now.

Roboklopp 04-04-21 02:23 PM

Aye defo

gratziani 04-04-21 05:23 PM

Surely he has to start and someone makes way for him.

Looks our best forward player.

4-2-4

--- ----- ----- Jota
Mane --- ----- ----- ----- Salah
---- --- ----- firmino

Fabinho ---- ------ Thiago

Etc...

BobTheCharmer 05-04-21 07:31 AM

Everything's better with Jota. Goalscorer.

Buzzo 06-04-21 10:06 PM

I have literally no idea why Jota got hooked ahead of Mane.

Fitness I reckon. Just back from injury. Mane if fit but a bit shit at the moment.

Scratch 06-04-21 10:45 PM

Aye, just back from a long spell out, played a lot of games for Portugal and we are managing his minutes to get the best out of him for the rest of the season.

Fredo 06-04-21 10:56 PM

Got a knock as well tonight. Got subbed shortly after.

I'm not saying you are wrong but I can't help but feel that there is something not quite right in how we assess player fitness, it seems that the likes of Robertson, Trent and Mane are all passing some fitness metric but look completely out on thir feet from all the football in the last few years. This for me is a big factor in their down term in form for all of them and probably a number of others.

baitman 07-04-21 01:33 AM

I think we are probably aware, but with a barebones squad we just don't have the options available, and a half fit Mane is still probably a better option than Origi, and I imagine with our CB pairing not ideal, changing more of the back line would be suicidal.

Hopefully Mane will get a rest and Jota, Bobby and Salah will play a few games. Didn't help matters with Jota just coming back from injury and Bobby either playing thru injury before that, or picking up a knock just as Jota returned.

I can understand the desire not to change the backline to some extent but how knackered to players like Robertson and TAA have to be before we switch it? Surely the more we play them when they are clearly knacker the worse their performances will be for the rest of the season and there is an increased risk of injury, we have barely seen Tsimikas and Neco had a run of games when TAA was out.

Mane's form means he is barely recognisable as the player from previous years, to be fair he's playing like the ineffective Origi we have seen, we could play Salah, Jota and Firmino, or bring Origi in who actually looked decent in his last run out, or we didn't have to loan Minamino out. At some point your first choice at 70% effectiveness isn't as good an option as a fully fit back up and to me we are at or close to that point with a few players IMO

Shaggy 23-04-21 09:20 AM

Big rumour on Twitter that he's injured and misses tomorrow and possibly United too. Hope it's bollocks. Either way, this season can't end quickly enough.

kev776 23-04-21 11:37 AM

Other twatter rumours saying out for the season, not substanciated tho.
