Not sure. In contrast to the Suarez case, there appears to be absolutely no transparency of process here. At least as far as I know - happy to be enlightened.

Are we expecting the FA to release a detailed report, I remember reading over the pages and pages of the Suarez one :D

Kenneth 24-02-18 04:14 PM

This one would be more of a pamphlet I think.

Liverpool 24-02-18 09:50 PM

his release clause is looking cheaper and cheaper

hope pep doesn't come for him, weaken their main rival for next year and loads of south american pals for him

Deano 24-02-18 09:57 PM

FWIW i never thought he's become this type of player - bloody immense at times

SB 24-02-18 10:02 PM

Incredibly gifted player & Klopp has brought him up a level or two since he arrived.

What’s his contract situation at present?

2 years left, looks to be signing a bumper new deal anytime now

Klopp has brought him up several levels. I really wasn't keen on him in the past. Seemed to drift in and out of games, and not show consistency in his performances, despite some of his stats. I never understood, and tbh, still don't understand the Suarez comparisons, as they're just totally different players, and even comparisons to Muller are lazy now, as Firmino is so unique in what he does.

Now he's actively involved in play, and showing consistently high performance levels on the pitch to match his numbers. He's also much stronger and quicker in terms of accelerating over shorter distances.

Very impressed that while the FA took their sweet time over the Holgate bollocks, he just carried on his performances in exemplary fashion.

Roanmore 25-02-18 01:40 PM

His pass for Salah's chance in the second minute was great as well.
Fakes with the right and passes with the left.

Leyton388 25-02-18 01:52 PM

Absolutely love the guy to bits. Getting rid of the ketwig in January has allowed Bobby to really shine.

The thing with Firmino is that it’s difficult to comparatively rate him as so few players play in a similar way to him. The one that he reminds me most closely of is the old Real striker Raul who had great skills but also worked his nuts off and created as many as he scored. Both worthy of their places in the team, even when not scoring, due to the improvement they bring about in other players. Even that’s not an exact comparison but it’s the closest I can come up with. Comparisons to Suarez are bizarre IMHO.

:handshake: Even with Bobby's choppers you couldn't imagine him biting anyone. Good shout about Raul BTW.

Jaco_Pastorious 25-02-18 02:54 PM

Although more prolific than Firmino, I think David Villa is another who played in a somewhat similar style to what Bobby has been this season.

Hard working, drifting between the lines, setting up attacks and also spear heading attacks.

Dunno why but he reminds me a bit of Kenny, sees stuff on the football pitch no one else can, unselfish and will draw players away

Looks like he's checking out Klopps cock, and he's impressed!

HamboCairns 27-02-18 01:50 AM

I wonder if this helps with no shanking a shot? If he opens up his body more by looking round, his leg can't swing so much so his shot goes straight.

HamboCairns 27-02-18 01:51 AM

Also, I love that rhythmic lift of Mane and Salah when he celebrates that last goal!

danperkins 27-02-18 06:13 AM

He reminds me of Suarez, never stops working, gets stuck in, can do amazing things with a football & he is absolutely hilarious.

Ohhh and his teeth :D

They're tap ins from about 3-6 yards! It's hardly a special technique for not missing, he's just being flash! :haha:

I was thinking in general, a lot of players swing their legs and pull the shot wide, just wondered if biomechanically if a no look forces the legs and hip to make a straighter shot.
