Arn 07-05-13 11:35 PM

If they don't deny it in the next 24h then he is gone IMO and they can't lie about it because as already been mentioned that they are listed on the stock exchange.

But he's not a board member

It's flipping significant for their business though.

cream 08-05-13 12:13 AM

Can see this being true. There was a bit of a campaign in the media for them doing the triple, the FA helped them walk the league but Rafa and UEFA didn't play ball. I think it was expected this would be his final season.

Kenneth 08-05-13 12:15 AM

I didn't knew cream's password would be so easy to figure out.

Log out and log in as Arn.

I don't think it'll all come crashing down for them, though. In fact whoever goes in is IMO almost guaranteed to do pretty well, given their resources, power and influence (the latter two of which will endure after Ferguson's gone, I reckon, albeit with diminishing returns). If someone else waltzes in and carries on winning everything, it ought to make Ferguson's achievements look a little less great.

I've always believed that when he goes, so will united as a threat. The squad is good but he takes them to another level.

Whoever comes in will need to replace the old guard and spend millions just to compete with City and Chelsea next season.

I really think this could be the end for United, especially if they get Moyes! :haha:

I think you're being way too optimistic there unfortunately :D

Perhaps you'll be right if they get Moyes, but if that does happen and he's doing poorly then I doubt he'll last long - they'll never give a new manager the leeway that Ferguson got in his early years there.

If they get a good manager, and continue to let him spunk 20-30m on a single player then they'll remain there or thereabouts.

Does anyone think we'll see a statement of sorts today? The uncertainty won't be doing their share value any favours, and I suspect due to their stock market involvement, they will have to either confirm or deny the speculation, no?

wiw 08-05-13 08:09 AM

Yeah agreed that's optimistic :D

They will have succession planning in place without a doubt. Its not all going to crumble just because hes leaving.

i think the squad is average ..........and fergie gets the best out of them

Red_Polo 08-05-13 08:13 AM

I think he'll be taking some extra time off in summer to recover from his hip op, that'll be all it is.

Then the cunt will be back.

Probably :haha:

But we'll see ;)

The man sold his soul to the devil in 1992, I just can't see anyone else taking them forward. He has been immense for them. Klopp, or whoever nah, not going to happen

little dave hedgehog 08-05-13 08:14 AM

they'll probably find a way to let him manage from beyond the grave.

Alex 08-05-13 08:14 AM

Who ever the new manager is will be likely to fail IMO. The one after him will be the one who does well I think.

So much pressure and expectation, that not many will ever be able to live up to Ferguson.

I really would love to see Ferguson go, but only because I cant stand the man. We arnt really competing with them at the moment, so anything to weaken them and bring them down to our level is a bonus :D

What an absolutely massive let-down that would be :sigh:

It's better to prepare for these things in pessimistic fashion when it comes to that shower.

G 08-05-13 08:29 AM

A hip replacement at his age is not going to be a quick recovery, certainly nowhere near the few weeks the club announced it to be. He's looking at months in recovery, which makes it all the stranger that he's not getting it done until August.

Gibbo 08-05-13 08:31 AM

I think the Jose odds are just bait dangling.

Still Chelsea no doubt. :D

Shaggy 08-05-13 08:38 AM

United announcement at 10am?

It's gonna be a let down isn't it. Just surgery and staying on as normal. :grr:

It's all over Twitter, but from nowhere credible/official.

Slinky Skills 08-05-13 08:52 AM

There's no way he's quitting unless it's health related which it seems it could be. It was only a few months ago that he announced he had no plans to quit.

Fuck me it would be terrific if he did! Imagine he did and Moyes took over, that would kill me off!

You'd have Everton and United fans both crying. :haha:

G 08-05-13 08:57 AM

It was only last week he said he wasn't quitting, in the programme notes for the Chelsea game.

Alex 08-05-13 08:58 AM

I dont think he will go now. Although him saying he was going to stay in the program notes from the weekend is hardly anything. Wouldn't be the first time he has said one thing and done another.

9:15 announcement?

Potentially 7 minutes remain until the END OF DAYS.

Pablo 08-05-13 09:11 AM

If they are making an announcement this early it'll be that he's staying. New York stock exchange isn't open for hours yet.
