Good work, Gibbo.

I can't believe Southampton are still moaning about that Clattenburg thing. Jesus, he was a bit cutting to one of their whinging players, I wish that was the biggest complain we had with refs this season.

RichC 04-01-14 07:27 PM

They've got some fucking side there.

Wonder if they fancy letting us have Muller on the cheap :D

Leyton388 04-01-14 07:38 PM

Bayern are a fantastic club. What a team they have and can't wait to see them bum Arsenal.

Liverpel 06-01-14 02:15 PM

Vitesse Arnhem have been forced into leaving Israeli defender Dan Mori behind for their mid-season break to the United Arab Emirates after officials refused to allow the player entry into the country.

Currently second in the Dutch league, the club decided on a mid-season break to Dubai where they will play two friendlies but Mori has been forced to stay at home as he holds an Israeli passport.

The move has been condemned by many, though the club itself has said little, stating that “as a football club, we steer clear of politics and religion.”

A spokesperson for the club had been given a guarantee Mori could join the team, but the day before they were due to go to Abu Dhabi, that guarantee was withdrawn. The spokesperson added that the club did not make a statement on the contentious issue as it could disrupt plans for the second half of the season.

Esther Voet of the Dutch Israeli information centre CIDI said Vitesse should raise the issue with the world football body Fifa.

“I wonder how things will go in Qatar where the 2022 World Cup is being held,” she is quoted as saying by RTL news.

The club has friendlies against German sides VfL Wolfsburg and Hamburger SV during their UAE stay.

I thought it was common knowledge that Dubai didn't let Israelis in? Many Muslim countries don't according to my jewish friend.

foresterbloke 06-01-14 02:50 PM

Jewish player against German sides in a Muslim country...

So many things to get annoyed about.

1. The obvious racialist cuntery
2. Why they went ahead at all? Should have told them we all come or none of us do.
3. What the fuck is the point of having a inter break for players to have a rest when they jet around the world playing more football. Do people actually buy the line it is for a rest and not a money spinning friendly exercise?

They play friendlies for fitness, they play in hotter weather as it reduces injury risk.

Yes, AFC Wimbledon are the new club.

Chris 07-01-14 03:33 PM

Webb and Mason both reffing premier league games this weekend. Nice "punishment" there.

john316 09-01-14 02:56 PM

Still insane that West Brom have still not hired a new manager yet. Seems to be a new 'favourite' every few days that falls through. Quique Sanchez-Flores is the new target but it seems nobody wants the job. Why sack a manager when you have nobody remotely ready to replace them?

Chazza 09-01-14 02:59 PM

I read that whoever comes in will have to work with the current coaching and back room staff which is proving an issue as you can imagine.

PTP 09-01-14 03:03 PM

New Brighton Tower  - had an 80000 capacity stadium :haha:

The Moyes approach.

Pepe Mel appointed WBA manager. Wasn't he the first guy linked to the post? :haha:

Seems like a mad appointment that. Spanish journeyman manager. Not allowed to bring any of his own staff in either. I'm expecting this to be a disaster.

PTP 10-01-14 10:15 AM

only an 18 month contract...so he's got the rest of this season and then one full season to make a mark or he's gone

Pablo 10-01-14 11:42 AM

Same as Sherwood. Screams of indecision. They'll both be gone long before the 18 months are up :D

Alex 10-01-14 11:46 AM

Its amazing how fast people can get the measure of a manager. Tim Sherwood was getting called Mike Bassett within a few days. Now he is a reknown 4-4-2 merchant. :haha:

Its great

Defoe is going to Toronto.

I'm surprised a PL team weren't in for him.

There was rumoured to be at least one top 4 club in for him. I think he badly wanted the easy live of a move abroad.

West Ham where apparently, so it was a case of shit pl teams or a chance at MLS and a change of scenery.

foresterbloke 11-01-14 02:30 AM

Toronto is a nice place to be. Easy games, big money, nice lifestyle.

He'll always be a cunt for immediately handing in a transfer request when West Ham were relegated all those years ago. I think he was 19 or so?

Maybe he's just fed up of sitting on the bench and wants to be sure he can play every week.

That was never going to happen a top 4 club here.

Bender 11-01-14 08:09 AM

Cardiff have posted a 30m loss, taking their debt to 118m with 66m owed to owner Vincent Tan.

I hope that 8m quoted is nonsense. 8m for a reserve player who'll be 31 1/2. :rash:

Chazza 11-01-14 11:22 AM

6m isn't it?

And 8m odd for Bradley.

RedReet 11-01-14 11:34 AM

Not sure, I read 8. Who's Bradley?

Chazza 11-01-14 11:46 AM

Michael Bradley from Roma.
