I thought he was doing really well there?

He is doing well.

In fairness, Bayern were never going to buy him, that was obvious. In the same way they didn't buy James.

Coutinho's buy fee is 110 which is ridiculous for a 28yo. If Barca halve that fee, there'll be plenty of takers i'd imagine.

But yeah, a cautionary tale indeed - but these fellas have egos some of us could only dream of.

They are all in for Sane and Havertz in the summer - no money for Phil :)

Gray 22-01-20 02:03 PM

I'd have him back on loan.

S-RED 22-01-20 02:04 PM

PSG, Juve, Mancs will all be in for him i reckon. Juve on a loan deal ....

Be interesting to see if the Mancs make a serious bid, whether he has the balls to go there.

Sounds like something they would go for all right

I was in this camp not too long ago, but nah- we’ve moved on & want players for the future. Our strength is our unity.

:handshake:

He burned his bridges big time. Look at what we have achieved and who we have signed since he left.

I was never in that camp as any player who wanted away from Klopp's revolution needs his head testing.

And regardless of that, he doesn't improve us so, no ta

labourRed 22-01-20 06:54 PM

Yeah, no way we'll entertain taking him back. The next stage for us is bringing a new team, not that this one has nothing left to give but with most of the wordies at their peak at 28/29 we'll be looking at adding a few younger ones to cycle into the team now.

Klopp referenced the next build at signing his contract... and i'm guessing this doesn't involve signing 28year olds. That's for the Mourinho's of this world.

EwarWoo 31-03-20 02:51 PM

Not even thought about the fella in a long time. We're better without him, and did right to cash in. Great bit of business.
