PGA Tour Golf thread

:rock::rock::rock::rock:

Couldn't find a dedicated golf thread so fuck it, here's one!

Anyone been watching the latest PGA event? The course is being eaten alive but it's still been a great tournament - should be superb viewing tonight. Bubba leads Rose, with Rory & Tiger about 8 back.

I think we're entering a golden era in golf - Tiger coming right back to form, Rory world no.1 and playing amazing, and the likes of Donald, Westwood, Kaymer, Kuchar, Jason Day, Adam Scott, Mickelson of course and a whole host of others playing consistently great golf. The Masters is going to be fantastic.

Shaggy 12-03-12 10:37 AM

No then! :haha:

Great win for Justin Rose last night, he's up to number 7 in the world (with McIlroy, Donald & Westwood the top 3). Brilliant for UK golf.

RichC 12-03-12 12:11 PM

watched the start of this, The start Bubba made was awful but then fully deserved with a pink driver FFS :D

See Tiger has another injury as well, real shame as it looks like he was starting to find some form again.

Pablo 14-03-12 03:06 PM

Woods will be fit for Augusta though. It's going to be a brilliant Masters, it's all setup perfectly

RichC 25-03-12 08:30 PM

Tiger is looking pretty damn good this week.

RichC 26-03-12 09:00 AM

cracking win last night from Tiger, looked pretty good heading into the Masters.

Should be a bloody good tournament this year.

Norbs 26-03-12 09:13 AM

Always been in awe of his ability but I've never liked him. It'll be interesting to see if he can get back in to the world's top 5, then we'll see

RichC 26-03-12 09:16 AM

Best golfer I've ever seen, always enjoyed watching Tiger as he moved the game on massively.

RichC 26-03-12 09:17 AM

He's world number 6 already :D

Shaggy 26-03-12 09:23 AM

He was brilliant at the weekend, watched every shot last night.

Sets the Masters up perfectly.

By the way, did anyone see Tommy 'Two Gloves' Gainey hit that 28 handicapper shot on Friday?! :haha: I was crying laughing. :haha:

Jas 26-03-12 09:35 AM

Tiger circa 2001 had everything! I'm in the ND camp never really liked him but you have to appreciate his ability, would never want him to break Jack's record of 18 majors!

You need a bit more club on that Tommy!

Re. Tiger, I really would love to see him win a major.

There are mass murderers and serial killers who have received more favourable press than Tiger did once he was exposed as an adulterer. He is a genius, and one of the best golfers in history who we are lucky to have witnessed.

RichC 26-03-12 10:54 AM

Ahhhh we've all done that surely! :D

I really want to see Woods getting back in the mix for majors, he fucked up with his ex mrs but no real shock it happened (surely he must have broached the idea of getting her twin involved at some point!)

Which part the mass murder or the adultery?

RichC 26-03-12 11:12 AM

Both obviously!

Shaggy 03-04-12 05:51 PM

And this lady has this little tiddler to win her first major.............

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Chazza 04-05-12 03:08 PM

RichC 03-06-12 08:00 PM

Tiger on a charge, -4 under after 7 holes and 1 behind the leader now

Rowan 03-06-12 10:07 PM

Tiger Woods:rock: that shot on 16 was unreal!!!!!

RichC 03-06-12 10:09 PM

Tiger of old!

I really hope he wins this going into the US Open

Rowan 03-06-12 10:11 PM

Amazing stuff. He's back like

RichC 03-06-12 10:12 PM

I fucking hope so, golf will be better for having the real Tiger back.

RichC 03-06-12 10:38 PM

birdies the last to go to -9 with a 2 shot lead!

Rowan 03-06-12 10:38 PM

Class stuff. He's looked brill this weekend. Can't wait for my round on Tuesday now

RichC 03-06-12 10:40 PM

Playing Tuesday as well, although I fear I'll be hacking my way round!

RichC 03-06-12 10:46 PM

tiger wins!!

Jas 04-06-12 06:24 AM

That shot on the 16th has to be one of the best shots I have ever see, that is up there on a par with the chip he played at the Masters a few years ago.

Frenchie 13-06-12 08:48 PM

who'dya fancy for the Open...Tiger myself..

Chazza 14-06-12 11:38 AM

The Donald, Mcilroy, Westwood group is on the red button tonight

Tiger going along nicely at -1

Mickelson not so clever at +6

Chazza 14-06-12 09:05 PM

Bubba Watson had a shocker +8

Shaggy 14-06-12 09:43 PM

Westwood, Rory & Donald three ball on the red button

I have just seen the scoreboard.

Matthew Baldwin is +4 :haha:

ChesterDave 15-06-12 12:24 AM

:haha:

Jas 15-06-12 05:39 AM

Luke Donald, the world number 1, finished his round on +9!!! I know they obviously toughen the course up for this event but fuck me you must have to be some player to go round in sub 90 or even sub 100 :shake:

Chazza 15-06-12 07:47 AM

Rose and McDowell in with Tiger at -1

Westwood +3 and Rory +7

If Tiger can play that solid for the next 3 days he should win it

:D had a couple of sherberts before I posted that

But thanks for pointing it out to the world :crackoff:

Chazza 16-06-12 10:11 AM

Tiger looking strong with a share of the lead

Rory and Luke miss the cut

RichC 16-06-12 10:14 AM

looks like a really tough course, leaders after 2 rounds on -1

Buzzo 16-06-12 11:55 AM

Consistency in finding fairways and getting pars whilst throwing in the odd birdie will see you through. Perfect for Tiger :handshake:

RichC 16-06-12 11:43 PM

Poor start to the round for Tiger +2 after 3 and back to +1 for the tournament

Hit a 6 iron for a 256 yard Par 3 though!! I'd be thinking of driving that :D

Chazza 17-06-12 01:25 AM

Love to see Westwood win it. Put himself amongst it at +2

Shaggy 17-06-12 08:31 AM

Shame it's on so late, I keep falling asleep at about 1am.

Chazza 17-06-12 12:02 PM

Yeah I lasted till about 1.30am

Tiger went to shit and shot 75 6 behind Furyk and McDowall

red g 17-06-12 12:17 PM

WOnder if Tiger is worth a punt at 14/1? Or to much to do on this course??

Got Westwood at 20/1 after the second round.

RichC 17-06-12 01:04 PM

14/1 is worth a punt on Tiger.

That course is so tough that players will slip back and you can't see too many if anybody tearing it up so if he sticks a 67/68 scorecard in certainly in with a shout.

Muddled 17-06-12 02:07 PM

Ernie at 18's must be worth a punt, he got his bad round out of the way early and if he can finish as strong as his last round, he could be in with a chance. Jackobson is at 16's too ... I dunno, I think they may prove to be more fruitful that Tiger, I think his last round may have cost him.

Liverpool 17-06-12 10:04 PM

how weird is that sky golf ad, with montys mug at the end :haha:

Liverpool 17-06-12 10:07 PM

stuck 2.50 on Blake Adams for a bit of interest 50/1

What a bastard of a course. Some of the pin positions as well are completely impossible.
