IIRC, the NextGen one was gassed for a UEFA approved one that all the CL clubs participated in.

Full Contact client Callum Nicholas has left Manchester United and joined rivals Liverpool, on a two year scholarship deal.

Callum, 16, pictured here at Anfield after completing his move is a talented midfielder with real flair, real work-rate and a real eye for goal.

Lee Payne, Full Contact’s head of football agency team, said “Callum is a real talent and we are delighted that he now has the opportunity to develop and progress at a club of the stature of Liverpool. He has worked very hard for this, and is a great kid ; we are expecting good things from him.”

RedReet 07-07-14 01:35 PM

Yup.

Just making sure I didn't imagine it as I didn't hear much about it last year, but here is the website. http://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/

Barca won it last year it seems.

The attached quote is a big kick in the bollocks for the feeder club

Rossiter is only 17 but is very calm and composed for a player of his age.

Doesn't seem to panic at all when pressured and/or in tight situations and reads the game very well.

I like him.

The bet is old news, but interesting nonetheless.

Grandad looks forward to Harry Wilson's first season as a professional with Liverpool FC

PETER Edwards, of Corwen, won 125,000 last year after placing an unusual bet.

When his grandson Harry was just 18-months-old, Peter bet that he would one day represent his country at football.

Fast forward a decade-and-a-half and Harry, who is also from Corwen, made his senior debut for Wales against Belgium last October.

“When he was a baby, he’d be crawling around chasing after a ball all the time, and it was a spur of the moment thing to put a bet on,“ said Peter.

“I used to bet on horses sometimes, and I knew the manageress of a William Hill betting shop in Wrexham.

“I was telling her how I was convinced he’d be a footballer one day and that I wanted to put a bet on him playing for Wales.

“I wrote to the head of special bets at William Hill in London, and he offered me odds of 2500/1, so I ended up betting 50.

“I won 125,000, and it was the biggest amount they’d ever paid out for an individual special bet.

“I was delighted to win of course, but I was more proud than anything of Harry and what he’d achieved.”

Harry, who is an Academy player at Liverpool, became Wales’ youngest ever senior player after making his debut aged 16 years and 207 days.

The previous record holder was Gareth Bale, who is a hero of Harry’s, and the Real Madrid star was 108 days older.

“Harry didn’t expect to play against Belgium,“ said Mr Edwards.

“The Welsh team had a lot of injuries, and the England team had already approached him to play for them because he is eligible because his grandmother on his father’s side is from Chester.

“The Wales team were making sure he played for them I think!

“But Harry really wanted to play for Wales in any case.

“The money that I won didn’t cross my mind, I was just so proud of him.”

Former Ysgol Caer Drewyn pupil Harry, now 17, has been at Liverpool since he was eight years old.

“Harry is unbelievably laid back and takes it all in his stride,” said Mr Edwards.

“He’s really focused on playing, and he’s really modest about his achievements. When he was eight or nine he was player of the month at Liverpool’s Academy.

“He didn’t even mention it to any of us for weeks.

“He never brags about anything, he’s lovely about it all.

“I never discussed the bet with Harry because I didn’t want to put pressure on him.

“Also, you don’t put a bet on unless you’re prepared to lose it, and if he’d have wanted to play for England then of course the bet wouldn’t have mattered.”

Currently, Harry is in Holland with Liverpool’s U-21 team and he recently signed professional terms with the Anfield giants.

“I’m really optimistic for his progress this season. He’s really fast, he’s got unbelievable short distance pace. He’s always been really fast.

“And he’s got a hell of a left foot.”

Mr Edwards, who is the father of Harry’s mother Nicola, says that Harry’s footballing talent has nothing to do with him.

“I was never any good at football, but his dad was a really good amateur player. The Wilson side of the family are really good footballers.

“I couldn’t be prouder of Harry,” said Mr Edwards, who is a former electrical contractor.

“I’m really excited about what could happen for him this season.”

So was McLaughlin playing a more attacking role because I assume that Kevin Stewart was playing right back

Daffy Duck 26-07-14 11:59 PM

The u18 and u17 teams also won 5-0 and 3-1, both against Brugge.

2 goals from Canos and one from Trickett-Smith, O'Hanlon and Sinclair in the u18 game, not sure about the u17, apart from the goal from The Incredible Dharius Waldron...

Rafa Paez to Bologna on loan, they got relegated last year if I'm not mistaken?

Not sure but they're in Serie B

Daffy Duck 07-08-14 06:22 PM

Then yes, they were in Serie A last year :)

Brad Smith loaned to Swindon.

Never been a fan of Smith, but thought he could do better than Swindon.

Long overdue. Must be at least a month since we last restructured our youth set up.

Tex to Brighton.

Come on Sami.

Daffy Duck 19-08-14 05:51 PM

Our u21 team plays Sunderland u21 in an hour.

Ward, Randall, Stewart, Jones, Williams, Rossiter, McLaughlin, Lussey, Peterson, Brannagan, Ojo

Venton 19-08-14 06:52 PM

Brannagan has a proper Plymouth-snide moustache. A very aggressive moustache indeed.
Seems a nice lad though I should add.

Saul Goodman 19-08-14 07:09 PM

Good to see Yesil back on the bench tonight after his latest injury. Hopefully he can put the injury problems behind, stay injury free and get a good run of games under his belt.

Whatmore and Randall having a good battle down there. Both decent players.

Venton 19-08-14 07:27 PM

Our attackers not getting any joy at all out of the Sunderland defence.

Venton 19-08-14 07:40 PM

Everything a bit too anxious for us here, very little fluidity, snatching at everything. Good shout for a free-kick on the edge of the box there though, not given. Bit of righteous anger might get us going.

Robbie-9-Fowler 19-08-14 07:41 PM

Would have been some goal for Sunderland that

Venton 19-08-14 07:41 PM

Sunderland should have scored after a great move, pinging it from one side of the box to the other. Ball driven across the box, Whatmore's despairing lunge inches away from connecting.

Venton 19-08-14 07:43 PM

and at the other end Brannagan should have done better, shooting wide from inside the box.

Venton 19-08-14 07:51 PM

Half time 0-0

Venton 19-08-14 08:17 PM

We are struggling to get an coherence going in the second half, Sunderland have had a couple of chances. No-one is getting a grip of the ball, far too frantic.
