Thanjk you.

From what i saw though, when we needed something to find a winner, Downing was anonymous. When they needed a winner, Young was directly instrumental in them getting it.
It was only one game, of course. I predict that it wont be a one-off occurance throughout the season though.
He plays for the best team in England. I'm sure this will help him somewhat.

At the moment it comes across as moaning about Downing, that he's not Young. Also he's not Messi or lots of other players we haven't signed.
But that would be a stupid thing to go on about it so obviously you must be getting at something else. So what is it?
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Young was about a yard onside as well, left centre back playing him well on. There's more passion in utd threads than Liverpool ones. For the record:
City
United
Arsenal
-----Big Gap------
Chelsea
-----Big Gap------
Liverpool
Everton
Tottenham
How is there a big gap between you and Chelsea? They finished above you last season, and it seems you're about to lose 2 big players.
I admire your confidence in your team but IMO you are over confident. I think we are also alot closer to you than you think.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
You can't argue with the fact a 0-0 draw at Newcastle is the hallmark of champions.

11 votes? I know how desperate your lot are when it comes to online polls (Raul Mereiles POTY) and i wouldn't put it past you. The comments are more interesting, seem to read Young better, but too cocky. Slur Alex will sort that out. I didn't realise Downing was playing second half yesterday.

i didn't realise Arsenal were playing yesterday either

Young was instrumental sure but who was defending him during the second goal?
Chris ****ing Brunt and the ball took 2 deflections before it ended in the net. If that's not being lucky I don't know what it is.
Also he was the one who provided an assistance to Rooney for the first goal, which clearly should've been saved by Foster.
Besides those 2 moments, what exactly did he do entire game? Not much. I know you will say he still influenced the game and affected the result but today it was based more on luck than on skill set.
Downing, on the other hand, had great few runs and crosses especially in the first half and was unlucky to hit the cross bar so to me he could have influenced the game in the samy way as Ashley Young if not even better. He didn't continue in the same fashion in the second half but who on our team did. It was collective dissappointment and he shouldn't be blamed for that.
Still early days but I think Downing, bar injuries, will be huge for us this year.
I think Ashley's game is very predictable and I really think that Downing is more complete player that can play on either flank with the similar degree of success while Ashley cannot.

I'm afraid that comes as no surprise.
