He had a dodgy 10 minuted or so but was still the most assured defender we had out there. I won't visit the Skrtel thread because anyone highlighting the issues with him will be accused of being negative after a defeat. Of the 4 that played today, 3 of them need replacing and Sakho isn't one of them.

He was slipping about for a small period in the game and gave ball away few times. Okay after a reset.
      Forwards.......

Clearly, but we should defend as a unit and are not. Neither of them took control or responsibility and I don't see Sakho covering for Skrtel in the way that I do the other way round . We can't have two non-communicating centre backs playing together, it's not working.

Their scoreline not being higher was because Skrtel's interventions

Sahko was excellent in first half and shocking in the second. Been a great signing though.

Something ****ed with his confidence in the last half hour. Did a terrible touch then never looked back.

            He's very good though.

We literally haven't had a consistent back line the whole season. Constant chopping and changing. Bound to have an effect on everyone.

                Another good performance from him.

Good to see the odd lapses he had in those few minutes didn't cause panic or confusion thereafter. Normal service soon resumed.

Skrtel just doesnt attack a ball on defending corners. Too busy pulling a shirt. Very bizarre way of defending and has been doing it for years. Sakho had a dodgy period but otherwise was excellent

I think Sakho is a communicator and a leader but not sure the rest listen at the moment the Cardiff goal showed that as it was him trying to push the defence up but none of the others listened.

Could be an issue in the making

Perhaps there's a lack of harmony between him and Skrtel, Skrtel feeling he's got seniority. To me at the moment, neither have that quality, the two on the bench both have it. Balance is wrong

Think we should at least have a crack at Sakho and Agger. Maybe v Oldham?

We will never know if it works otherwise.

                          Or Toure and Sakho

                            Toure and Sakho for me

Are Toure and Agger too slow as _a combo? They're by far the most aggressive partnership, best in the air, most assured with the ball and best readers of the game.

Out of all the partnerships tried so far they certainly have the best record together this season. We haven't tried them all though but then we can't keep chopping and changing either. It's a poser alright .

I presume he's looked at all the partnerships in training and has concluded this is best one right now, it's far from convincing though.
