In fairness to him he never got a look in after Suarez returned from his ban and with Sturridge and Suarez on fire, he wasn't really needed as anything other than an occasional late sub.

Of course it's unfair to define him by that moment, but let's be honest, that corner really was atrocious
He pretended to cross it, but tried to play it short to Coutinho, but Coutinho wasn't on the same wavelength and it was a bit under-hit. We had 14 corners that game with no success, so he was trying something different to catch Chelsea by surprise.

Yes, it was a terrible corner, but I've seen much worse and if it wasn't at that particular time of the game or if it was even a different player it would hardly have been mentioned since.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Tried to play it short? Coutinho was in the middle of the pitch, about 15 yards outside their 18 yard box. A bit under-hit is an understatement, look at where Willian collected it.

It was poor execution, nobody is denying that. Are you suggesting he intentionally passed to Willian?

Every Chelsea player was in the box, so it would have been hard to pick out a Liverpool player, so in theory if he had of laid it off for Coutinho to run on to as he was in acres of space then it could have been a decent opportunity, but the problem was Coutinho wasn't expecting the ball so was static and the pass was a poor one. He was probably trying to be too clever because at all times he was looking at the back post which is why Coutinho probably wasn't expecting it and also why Aspas misjudged where he was.

Yes, clearly that's what I'm suggesting

No, I'm saying it was simply a crap corner.

And it was never a short corner, given Couthinho's position.

Couthino was in acres of space though and could easily have been picked out, but that ball was never going to reach him, so no blame there at all.

Well 'short' probably wasn't the best way to describe it, I just meant that he chose not to cross it, instead decided to lay it off to Coutinho, but it was a poor pass.

I'm not denying that it was a crap corner, of course it was, I just don't think it warrants a billion **** jokes, nor this tedious discussion that I can only apologise to those who have been foolish enough to read it.

It's talk like this that precipitates the posting of 'that corner' GIF/video.

                Stop it now.

Remember he was doing well a few years ago and was linked back with us! Think it was while he was at Barnsley.

Barnsley was his best spell he probably should have stayed at that level for a bit longer as the move to Wolves seems to have sent his career downwards.

Rigobert Song is the new manager of Chad

Former Liverpool and West Ham defender Rigobert Song will begin a new chapter in his career on Saturday with his first stop into management.

The 39-year-old has hung up his playing boots and will be watching from the sidelines this weekend when his Chad team play Egypt in a World Cup 2018 qualifier.

Song was appointed manager of Chad after ending his playing career five years ago following a spell in Turkey.

Despite the fact that he played for us for a couple of years, the only 2 things I can think about when I hear of Rigobert Song is the Houllier comment about Fowler "eating the grass" and the fact that he was the first player to get two red cards at world cups
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
