            Bellamy return boosts Wales side

Bellamy has scored 15 goals from 47 appearances for Wales
            Cyprus v Wales

            Kick-off: 1715 BST
Live commentary on BBC Radio Wales & the BBC Sport website

West Ham striker Craig Bellamy has been passed fit for Wales' Euro 2008 qualifiers against Cyprus on 13 October and San Marino on 17 October.

Bellamy had groin surgery last Thursday and was expected to be out for 12 days but has made a speedy recovery.

However, Wigan midfielder Jason Koumas, who sat out the last qualifier with a foot injury, is suffering from thigh and hip problems and will miss out.

Tranmere keeper Danny Coyne is set to take over from injured Wayne Hennessey.

            Interview: Wales manager John Toshack

Bellamy's availability will come as a relief to manager John Toshack as it had been thought he would be limited to playing in the clash with San Marino.

But he trained with the squad on Wednesday morning and has been given the blessing of his club to play in both games.

Football Association of Wales spokesman Ceri Stennett said: "Craig had a groin operation last week and we were aware that he was training with West Ham.

"The intention was to wait to see how he went and then, if he was okay, fly him out to Bologna on Monday to join up with the party heading for San Marino.

"But Craig has always said to us that he wanted to travel for both matches, and now West Ham are happy for him to do so and for him to be available for both matches.

"He has not played for West Ham in five weeks and they clearly are happy for him to have some match practice under his belt.

"Obviously our medical team will keep a very close eye on him, nobody wants him breaking down.

Koumas was examined by Wales' medical team at the squad's base near Cardiff on Tuesday before returning to his club.

His last appearance for Wales on foreign soil was back in September 2005, but Toshack says he has no reason to doubt the 28-year-old's commitment.

"He is a key player for us but has missed our qualifying games in Slovakia, Dublin, the Czech Republic and now this trip," said Toshack

"But I am aware that the injury had become a genuine worry for him, he has been playing and not doing much training.

"I am disappointed with the situation, but now happy in my own mind about his problem.

"I can understand people questioning that he has missed so many away games for us.

"But we have seen the problem now and he will not be right for our next two games.

"Of course I would be happy if he played in Wigan's next match, it would show that he is fit again."

West Ham defender James Collins was due to link up with the Wales squad on Tuesday after a trip to the dentist, but he needed an extra day to recover from the surgery.

Toronto midfielder Carl Robinson is flying in from his match in Denver, but fellow midfielder Carl Fletcher has withdrawn after picking up a hamstring strain playing for Crystal Palace.

Keeper Lewis Price also joined the squad on Tuesday after playing a reserve match for Derby on Monday, but Wrexham midfielder Mark Jones has withdrawn through injury.

Luton's David Edwards had been called up as a replacement, but he has also been ruled out after damaging a hamstring in the Hatters' Johnstone's Paint Trophy loss to Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Toshack has opted not to call up another replacement to the Wales squad at this point.

Meanwhile, Marinos Satsias and Michael Morfis have returned to the Cyprus squad to face Wales.

The APOEL FC pair sat out the back-to-back victories against San Marino, with goalkeeper Morfis nursing a broken finger and Satsias suffering from knee problems.

FC Carl Zeiss Jena midfielder Costas Charalampides will also be available after missing the last two games with a knee injury.

Cyprus are sixth in Group D but level on points with the two sides above them, Slovakia and Wales.

Haha, u got pace at the back mate? With Belelrs playing there may be another goalfest if Cyprus are weak at the back and lacking pace?

No, we're not the quickest at the back, but I do believe we'll be a handful for them up front.
