As for your short memory, Benitez's alleged negativity somehow led to our being comfortably the highest scorers last season, but you seem to think - rather, know - that he actually decided not to play attacking football this season. If only we all had your insight and wisdom

Rafa said the same before we went out to play against atletico as well and we werent attacking but we were offensive to watch.

what Rafa says and does is 2 entirely different things!!

I'm not sure that's true, it may appear that way from the results and performances we've seen this season, but I doubt that Rafa tells Gerrard and Torres to play neagitively. When Torres is playing we seem to put more attacking performances than when he isn't, I don't believe that this is because we are set out to play that much differently, but because of the ability and form of Torres when he's on the pitch. IMO the same would be true of Gerrard, if he'd been on form.

In short IMO if we'd played with an on form Gerrard and Torres people could have different opinions about how attacking or defensive we've been this season, the problem is we haven't.

There are reasons to explain that we've been poor this season but how can you explain the fact we've scored the most goals last season? Does that not show that Rafa isn't negative? This season it's been down to injuries, poor form and loss of key players and we seemed to be a team devoid of confidence for long chunks of the season. We've fared much better in the last 2/3 months but the damage was done. There ARE mitigating factors that you've got to acknowledge before venting out your frustrations.
