Agreed that there have been some shite United teams that have won the league with 70+ points. Just seems to be our luck that when we look like we can win it there's another cunt team that is ahead. If we get to 90+ points this season and not win the league it will be gutting.

Leicester ultimately needed 72 to win the league that year, Man City could hit that number by the end of Jan. that points total will probably get 6th this year.

I think we'll end up needing 80 to get top 4.

We just need to try and stay close to them as much as we can. They wobbled a wee bit for the last 10 mins vs Watford.

They really did, it's the only way to play against them is too have a go, unfortunately most teams have lost before they even walk on pitch. Need Chelsea to take something off them, we have awkward game away to Bournemouth too.

It would have been nice to see Spurs drop points too, but you can't have everything.

If we can get it done against Bournemouth it adds a little bit of pressure they haven't faced for a while v Chelsea. Don't really rate this Chelsea side though, pretty mediocre in all areas but hopefully they can do something.

If Hazard isnít playing well and scoring they seem pretty mediocre.

Mad isnít it.

Allison is not getting any press (which is fine for a keeper) but what an amazing signing. Like big VVD, worth every penny.

God yes. I'm so glad Karius made those stuff ups in pre-season. Imagine if Klopp had given him one more chance. Lovely lad but a butter-fingered boob to boot.

This city side are definitely one of the best I've ever seen but December is the most important month in a premierleague season. If a team is in form then, they can pick up double the points and be ahead going into the final 3rd of the season.

Likewise it also means if your team is in shit form, the problems can seem compounded. Good to get rhythm for some squad players before the xmas/New Years fixtures.

Would you? Seriously? Naaaah...

I'd love it if we got all three points. A draw doesn't really do us much good unless we're already ahead in the league.

Have two teams ever faced each other head to head in January both unbeaten?

At least Milner, Naby, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Salah and Firmino got a good rest or look fresh. Shaq still looks dangerous and Fab will be back in. Hopefully Mane too. I'm feeling a little more confident for the Bournemouth game despite Wilson and Fraser looking on fire.

We beat Bournemouth and we're top of the league.

They lose to Chelsea and we stay there for at least a week.

Why? We'd have to play in the Europe League anyway.

Which introduces a whole new pressure, but what a great place to be

I disagree, but we need to trust the squad IMO, rotate when we can and keep the competition for places going, the battle for midfield places is heating up, Keita and Shaq are looking hot.

It would only help if we dropped out out of Europe completely, a run in the Europa League would be far worse than staying in the CL. Need to be testing ourselves against the best every week, not 5 times a season. IMO

we could have done with City getting a difficult last 16 in the CL between Arsenal/Chelsea league games but there is absolutely fuck all in the runners up pot, unless we lose to Napoli and PSG end up second.

i'd much rather be in the champions league than out of it - but if we were to go out we don't want to be in the fucking Europa

Thursday night games will fuck with our schedule and it will mean pretty much every week we will play on the Sunday mostly knowing what City have done on the Saturday....it's added pressure we don't need.

Unbelievable start to the season by us - just can't believe city - I said it half jokingly earlier in the thread.....but I'm now expecting us to go unbeaten all season and finish 2nd

It madness but we're genuinely good. We've only dropped points to City and two away fixtures against teams in the top 5. Utterly brilliant consistent

Next up for us after that in United at home so would be good to be pushing 15 points clear of them going into Christmas!
You know what, after the fact, it really is. 15 points from 15
