What an absolutely brilliant well-rounded footballer he is. Not what I thought he was at all. He's measured and considered on the ball, good at keeping possession, plays it simple when needed and is incredibly creative with those lofted passes.

I've also been really impressed with him off the ball. He works really hard and his positioning and pressing are improving all the time.

Finally he's a much needed goal threat. He should get 7-8 or this season for us easy enough. That'll be a big help.

Amazing signing

Can't disagree with any of that.

Agree with all that. he’s a great fit for us & supplies so much ammunition to the front players.

I think he will get better and better.

He has that look of not quite believing his luck at the moment (clogging away at Stoke this time last year FFS). Once he truly feels he belongs I think he will really kick on even more.

Loved the hug at the end with Klopp, and the way he clung on after, looked like a child asking his old man if he'd seen his goal; "did you see me, did you see me dad?!!"

Lots of long range chances gifted to us second half as they stood off us, he was exactly the right player to bring on when we did and it worked out perfectly; even if United fans will bemoan deflections, they were exactly the sort of goals they had coming to them. Shaqiri is such an important option for us, he brings something different and by fuck did he bring it today.

Great signing. I was worried about his attitude, but I was completely wrong. He's looking a fantastic signing.

You'd have to be pretty thick and miserable not to want to be part of this.

I love Shaqiri. We all suspected he might be half decent but under Klopp there are no halves!

A full Shaqiri is just about half a normal person.

Hell yeah. Hows he getting on over at Barca these days? Did they make a statue of him or are they burning him at the stake? Genuine question actually as I have no interest in the league over there.

I now see what Charlie Adam was talking about re: Shaq

The way he was buzzing all over the pitch, tracking back, putting his foot in, always looking to get involved, making telling passes, intricate one-twos around the area etc

I'll definitely be listening to Charlie's views on football and player evaluation much more from now on.

That pass with the outside of his foot was Gerrardesque. How the hell did Salah deny him that assist?
