Missing the Ox and those runs he made so hopefully Naby can fill the gap

I thought he did really well, last night. always looking to take the ball forward and when someone runs at the oppositions it creates space for others

How many touches did he have? Must be close to a PL record

I actually think we could have Keita, Shaq and Fab / Milner in a 3 at times

City do it with Fernandinho and the 2 silvas

I think as much as anything the timing of picking up the injury when he did interrupted the flow of his settling in period & as a consequence effected his confidence.

I thought he was excellent today. However he rather worryingly ran out of steam completely at about the 60 minute mark.

Yup me too, has a fabulous first touch. Apart from the double meg he kept things simple quick snappy passes. Two good displays back to back, same with Fab. Both still getting full match fitness too.

the both of us were worried I think we’ll see the real Naby for the second half of the season now that he is getting into the speed of the Premier League.

What I like about him is that he always looks to go forward. Whether thats passing it forward or carrying it

We've definitely missed Chamberlain doing that this season and in the last few games Keita has definitely started to look like that type of player

It feels like Fabinho is similar, wanting to go forward as much as possible, differently to Naby maybe more with the passing. And yeah we’ve missed the ox driving through midefield this season.

We'll never see the best of him there, he's not a left midfielder but he's so good he'll do a decent job.

Where do you think his best position is?
Watching his highlight vids and updates before he arrived he always seems best driving from centre mid and running at the opposition midfield and defence.
Not so suited to tika taka.

He played as one of the two pivots in a 4-2-3-1 with the license to do as he pleased. I think he could play that role with Fabinho or develop to play as one of the 8s in Klopp’s 4-3-3. Games like the one vs Napoli (high transition end to end) is where he would excel and I now think it will be next season before we see the best of him.

It’s actually great that he can bed in with no pressure because the rest of the team is functioning so well. He needs to adapt to the pace of the game here and realize that he has less time on the ball.

We are getting glimpses of what he is about and he’ll soon have a break out performance such as the one Fabinho had today

Thought he had a good game against Utd. Always looking to move forward, running at the Utd defence looking for movement. Good turn of pace. Not afraid to tackle. He makes our midfield much better.

I said a few weeks ago, that as great as City are, we're still keeping pace with them, but have so much more room for improvement. Shaq has now started adding goals, Fabinho getting better by the game and sooner or later Keita is going to reach beast mode. Once he does, we'll be unstoppable.

I think he's just trying a bit too hard, no quite match sharp etc.

Looks quality, just sometimes taking on 1 too many touches, trying to prove himself. He'll be fine that lad, absolute gem.

The one where Lukaku got booked or after? I was dozing off through the game and MOTD after a particularly heavy weekend.

Interesting tackle as Lukaku was flying in but Nabby was studs up, wondered how the Ref would deal with it. Book the Belgian, only fair after the world cup

Yeah, the Lukaku one.

I think he followed through on Lukaku and stood on his groin. Lucky not to get booked himself. Lukaku's attempt at a leg breaker missed didn't it? Ironically

Not surprised with Naby stood on his nut sack.

I keep thinking the exact same, he's almost there but just seems to be overcooking things slightly and spoiling the meal. Watching him reminds me of someone with an important answer on the tip of his tongue but before he gets it out, things have moved on. When he clicks he's going to be a beast - he has a little bit of everything in his locker, except he's good at each skill in his repertoire, unlike Can who was a little bit average at everything but still thought his shite was chocolate.

He's holding the ball too long but as players get used to his style of play, we'll see different movement to accommodate.

It worked at Bournemouth but agree we really could do with finding a way of getting him into the middle of the park. It's probably the only minor gripe any of us could have this season. There's an unbelievable player in there somewhere and it's fucking mouthwatering to imagine getting him at his best in the middle of this team.

Still very effective and quite different to the other midfielders. The problem is finding a way for Keita and Firmino to play through the middle (their best positions). There was a point, tonight, where Keita was running through the middle, with the ball, and Firmino had dropped deep - looked 'squeezed'. The team and the formation(s) will continue to evolve, especially as I think we'll sign at least one top-class attacker in the summer.

completely agree, tough for Naby too as the team is flying. Gini has been class central and fab is starting to look the business, Hendo and Milly there too. Would love to see what he could do in a central role. Cup would a perfect opportunity to try this?
