Not our match, but a Celtic match. Missed the coach and boat home as I went to buy a bottle of vodka and to this day I've no idea how I made it back to Belfast.

See there is talk of Real Madrid going after Eriksen. I'd say that we are in a good position not be picked off by them, whereas Spurs and Chelsea seem especially vulnerable. If Sarri stays, Kante might even be interested in a move.

Reckon RM will go for Eriksen and Hazard, high quality, easily obtainable targets for them with little left on their contracts. Kante could be a surprise target as well, doubt they'll go for Kane or Alli, think they both signed new contracts recently.

Can't see them going for other targets in the Prem? Any other rumours floating?

Wouldn't surprise me if Salah left especially after saying winning the CL was his dream, besides every player has his price and nothing surprises me in football....Also imagine if RM make a bid of £150Million + ya never know

Maybe, but compared to the other examples, we have our best players tied down on long term contracts, Eriksen and Hazard are approaching their final seasons.

Real have no better chance than us at winning the CL. Only Barca, Juve or City have a better chance in my opinion.

That's crazy when you consider City must have been out of the PL for 5 or 6 years during that time as well

Interesting as well that the difference in spending between us and Man Utd has happened since 2013-14, at that point we were level with them, since then they have spend ~£400m more than up

That can't be right, we're just £10m short of United? I know they have been getting 10x the value for average players over the years to balance the books, but that still seems way off.

The hyper inflation of UK football probably has a lot to do with it. You have to spend many more pounds on the same player than even three years ago.

To some extent.

Although I'd suggest that City out front having only been near the top 6 in recent years is pretty telling.

I did consider that, but since prices have become ridiculous, we've been pretty good at balancing the books and I'm pretty sure when Jose was moaning about not being able to compete financially with us, his net spend was over £100m more than ours.

Our net spend has been very reasonable during the period of hyper inflation though, hence posting £100 profit laster year. Sure we spent £160m last summer but couts will total 140m, solanke, Ings etc.

I don't believe those numbers.

This was from April last year. Obviously we spent big this summer and rocketed up the table, but still way off the leaders.
