Barnes and Parlour are drawing the first round of the Carabao Cup in Morrisons in Enfield or something

Think he should get his own thread tbh. I know he hurt us all but I reckon most of us are over it - I am. I adored him, he was incredible for us.

Yeh, looking back at the mess we were on and off the pitch his decision to leave was understandable but he should have gone to another club not Chelsea....anyway, was absolutely incredible for us and as his armband said...YNW

He was the best number 9 in the world at one point, just completely unplayable.
Having read a bit more about what was going on in the background and how he was essentially forced to leave, I have no ill-will towards him at all.
Just a shame he never won anything whilst playing for us.

He was brilliant for us, but for his last six months he stunk the place out.
It was clear he had had the marrow sucked out of his bones and his record for chelsea proves this.

Interesting...
Although it is not always what they do but how they do it.
He did not need to hand in a request on deadline day.
We ended up blowing most of his fee on a panic buy who was crocked until the summer anyway... and a steaming pile if shite when fit.
Newcastle are the only team ti really benefit from that seqence if events...
So fuck Torres... he is no different to Owen in my eyes... gave no shits toward the fans. I dont hate him or anything... he is just an ex employee as far as I am concerned... one who thought he was better than he was, and who left on a downward trajectory.

It's all about getting the right break. His style was probably suited to a higher level, but having to drop down leagues hasn't done him any favours. While he should of been developing he was getting lumps kicked out of him.

I know it's been said before, don't care but just imagine Gerrard under Klopp!
We would be a fucking monster of a team!...Ramos would not be alive if Gerrard had been in that final last year!

Seemed a half appropriate place to put this
Former chairman and director Noel White has passed away
https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport...rafael-benitez
I mainly remember him for briefing against Rafa if I'm honest but the guy served the club for a long time - I'm sure some of the older heads know far more about him

What happens to referees after they retire?
I know one or two of the high profile ones have got media gigs in recent years but most must have to retire in early forties at the latest and earn a fraction of what players earn so what on earth can you do to earn a living after being a referee for years?
