Wonder what Klopp would have made of that?

"The numbers aren't for us" or something like that. But we'd take him otherwise!

Yeah

Interesting if messi goes to city, he will score loads and be unplayable at times but then they already score insane amount of goals. Not sure he alone will help them leak less goals at the other end.

I just want fans back asap as I think klopp and the team feed off them more so than the likes of city and utd.

This is so true. I think we could be affected by a lack of fans more so than others.

In the champions league yes but our away form is so good in the league you could argue we don't need it as much as we might think.

Going to be interesting to see how city's confidence holds up this year. I think they're starting from a very vulnerable posittion.

I honestly don't think he'd make them any better. He's a better player than anyone they've got without a doubt but he'd need time to adjust and as you say, he's not going to fix their defensive issues. I think what they already have up front is more than fine.

But he seems like a disruptive snidey fck behind the scenes who feels like his word is the word of god or else. It's hardly surprising, being the best in the entire world at what you do for a decade would have to get in your head.

For that reason I wouldn't want him here regardless of price.

We don't want the best players in the world. We want the best team in the world. As much as he's the former I don't think he's part of the latter.

If he really wanted to give himself a challenge and make an impact he should drop his wage demands (surely he doesn't need anymore money?) and go to somewhere he can actually build things. Sheff United would build a team around him and have the funds to get some ambition off the back of last years success.

If you don't want immediate trophies or massive wages IMO they're the club of choice, they will keep growing.

Don't think he will be able to walk away from that dynasty he has built at that stage, gotta see it through methinks as it will be smack bang in the middle of a 2nd cycle generation of a new team. The likes of Salah, Mane & Firmino will be most likely will have to be replaced by then or phased out with a younger, exciting combination.
His family & peers will tell him to follow his heart regardless especially his missus who will have a big influence...So Mrs Klopp, what else do you want doing around the house?

A good read on our throw in coach.

Love this quote

'Grønnemark has extended his contract for another season with Liverpool and selects his clients carefully. “I don’t want to coach teams that compete with Liverpool at the top, and I don’t want to coach teams that have a historical rivalry. For instance, coaching Liverpool and Manchester United in the same season wouldn’t work. I’ve had several offers from top teams in the Premier League that I’ve turned down – including in this season. Liverpool isn’t holding me back. My own ethics are.”'

Gronnermark

Great read.

Remember when Andy Gray and Richard Keys took the piss out of us for using a throw-in coach?

Keys in particular is a right fuckin arsehole. He thinks he is a fuckin footballer himself and a bit of a ledge. Remember his banter with Jamie Redknapp. Did you smash it..... Redknapp hanging out the back of it. Creepy prick. Didn't he end up shagging his daughter's friend then too. What a fuckin prick

It's still an excruciatingly hilarious clip. Not to laugh along with Keysy's 'banter', but to laugh at the Partridgean try-hard cretin he really is

No.

I don't know or have ever looked at throw in stats, but fuck me our full backs take an age to throw the ball in which in many cases invites pressure.

Maybe they take their time and subsequently their success is better than most but it is noticeable watching our games.

If we are indeed on 68.4% and that's the second best in Europe then throw ins must be almost a disadvantage to the team winning them.

Anyway, I'm all for (many) marginal gains.

I still don't understand why a team would want to take a throw in rather than recycle the ball.
