Bloody hell - 5th manager in a year.... feel for my hometown club; the future doesn't look good - the Chairman is a clueless shyster
Dino Maamria: Oldham Athletic appoint ex-Stevenage boss after sacking Laurent Banide
League Two side Oldham Athletic have appointed Dino Maamria as their new head coach on a two-year deal after sacking Laurent Banide.
Frenchman Banide, 51, was relieved of his duties after winning only two of his 11 matches in charge.
Maamria, 48, was sacked by Stevenage earlier this month after they failed to win any of their opening seven league games this season.
His first game as Latics boss will be at home to Morecambe on Saturday.
Mammria told the club website: "I'm hugely excited to join such an historical football club.
"The vision and ambition of the chairman was a big factor and the first priority is to stabilise and unite this great football club."
Banide had two brief spells as head coach at Monaco and has also had spells in charge of numerous clubs in the Middle East.
He took over at the Greater Manchester club in the summer after Pete Wild's second spell as caretaker ended at the end of last season.
Wild got the job after Frankie Bunn was sacked in December 2018 and again after Manchester United legend Paul Scholes resigned after 31 days.
Banide's exit means that Lee Johnson in 2013-14 remains the last manager to start and finish the season in charge of the Latics.

What a joke. The only way these clubs can survive is to be fan owned and go part time. They must be at the hub of the community building friendships and respect.

Papers say Poch loses out on a £12.5m payout if he takes another PL job this season, I think he might want to take a break for 6 months
