Good, they have City soon and it'd be 8 or 9-1 at the current rate, they don't have one good defender regardless (Tierney already looks as hopeless as he did in Europe for Celtic) but someone else might be able to make them decent for a day.

Arsenal are aware attracting their preferred candidates, such as Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, will prove difficult mid-season should they pull the trigger on Emery.

With that in mind a double-act of ex-players Freddie Ljungberg and Steve Bould - who are both coaching at the club - would be considered as a short-term solution.

Ljungberg would be viewed as the figurehead, while Bould, it is understood, will take on the majority of the coaching responsibilities.

sad to see him and Poch go, two decent managers/fellas.

They wanted Wenger out, replaced him with a top tier manager who also failed, now what?

the club is fucked, changing managers isn't getting them back to the top

For years they were all about creaming it in the CL without any real ambition...

Lets see what masterplan they have now

It's really toxic there.

For so long, a model club run perfectly from top to bottom. They've lost all of that.

Sounds familiar, right? Thank fuck we have FSG now.

Yeah when FSG came in and saved us from those two tossbags. It was at a time when I looked at Arsenal with jealousy. Well run club, and doing it without spending dirty oil money.

Not now though. Now they feel like Hodgson era Liverpool. Before the takeover.

If Allegri and Pochettino don't want it, they might try and tempt Ancelotti from Napoli, given the shit that's going off there.

I used to rate him but some of his decisions while there have been baffling. The exclusion of Torreira (their best DM), Ozil (best creative player), not playing Pepe in the Europa League so he can find his feet/get some goals under his belt, and most of all, the insistence on playing the ball out from the back when they don't have the players to do so.

The funny thing, is if Benitez hadn't gone to China, he would've been perfect to step in temporarily.

I think Ancelotti could get the best of that group of players. It's decent, but tactically, it's an absolute mess.

Rafa would have been a great appointment for them. There's so much to do to fix their issues, the defence is a shambles and the midfield isn't any better really.

In Aubameyang and Lacazette they have two good strikers but that's not going to be anywhere near enough for where they want to be.

I'm not sure that's necessarily a limiting factor. He was being talked about on the radio by some journos last night (when this already looked likely), with no mention that he wouldn't be able to take up the role.

How is his Chinese team doing BTW?

Yeah, most Spanish managers seem like decent blokes, Emery and Poch definitely are. Pep"s a massive cunt though

Great start but had a pretty bad run of late apparently. If he gets the chop, Souey might be interested.

I see that Pepe only makes the bench these days.

£60m and they’ve had - what - one goal from him?

Aye.....he is struggling big time. (Might have another goal or two in the EL)

Club situation obviously hasn't helped, but he's only impressed very, very sporadically of what I've seen of Arsenal this season.

Bedding season probably and may get a new start with a new boss, but that was big money.

They also said that he played very well against us, that must count for something

Seems to me that he's a player that they didn't particularly need, when compared to the shortfalls elsewhere in the squad.

And I'm not sure Emery was responsible for that.

And now they've allegedly got a shortlist of 20 managers to replace Emery.

They're doing a glorious job of messing things up right now. They haven't got any kind of vision for what they're trying to achieve. It seems quite dysfunctional.

If they cdon't get it right soon, they might get bogged down in mid table for a few years.

They're in a real mess, aren't they?

With their star players in Lacazette and Aubameyang on the wrong side of their twenties, Ozil being 31, the plus side is that some of their younger players are gaining Europa League experience.

There's even some alleged issues with the amount of money that could be available in the summer.

Not sure why Rodgers would go there just yet, when he could get a few good years out of the Leicester job, and look at maybe the Man City job once Pep clears off.

They are genuinely awful, they don't just struggle in these games they spend most of them getting battered, that's Southampton, Wolves and Brighton that have all totally dominated at the Emirates in the last few weeks, can't really get much lower than that. Perhaps being smacked by Everton, which could happen soon.

I imagine Lacazette and Aubameyang must be wondering what one earth they have done to their careers by going there.
