Weirdly, Sports shops over here dont sell much Cricket gear past the England ODI shirt or something.

I used to get anything like that from an independent. But Sports Direct has killed them off.

So my best guess would be online now. ECB webshop?

Can pop out somewhere for a day or 2 when Smith comes in and he'll still be there when you get back, fucking nightmare. Must get sick of carrying the other scrubs though, La Boo Shane apart.

He’s incredible. The last guy that I recall who had the same approach was Graeme Smith, but he had absolute quality round him. Steve Smith doesn’t. If Australia get a score he’s always good for at least half of it.

This is annoying.

If I were playing for England I would simply bowl Steve Smith out.

Maybe England should have persevered with this tactic a bit longer...

The guy is a machine.

Baring in mind he walked having been injured by that ball from Archer.

Amazing performance.

It's like experiencing deja vu every time he goes out to bat isn't it. Apparently he has scores of 50 or more in 8 consecutive innings against England, the lowest of which is 76.
England have definitely overdone the short stuff to him. It was ok for young Joffra to have the occasional pop particularly early on, but for Broad & the rest to be trying the same thing at their pace was just ridiculous.

200 up for Smith. Immense.

He must be so far ahead of everyone else in the batting averages in this series.

That's almost certainly the ashes retained. Best they can hope for is a drawn series. I'd say even that looks like a tall order.

An Australian cricket journalist was mistakenly charged £55,000 for a single bottle of beer in a Manchester hotel.

Peter Lalor ordered the £5.50 Deuchers IPA at the city's Malmaison hotel before being stunned to discover he had been charged $99,983.64 (£55,315.12).

Mr Lalor, who was in the city to cover the Ashes series, now believes he drank "the most expensive beer in history".

A spokesman for the hotel apologised and said an investigation had been launched.

However, the money left Mr Lalor's bank account and he says he was told it would take 10 business days for the refund to be processed.

The journalist, who writes for The Australian newspaper, said he had alerted the barmaid after having a "sixth sense that something had gone wrong".

"Australians find England pretty expensive usually, but this takes the cake," he said.

"That's a lot of money. I'm just a cricket writer, I don't earn big bucks and it's costing me in interest. He had £55k in his account FFS

Smith was dropped on 65 & Paine on 9

That's practically 200 runs chalked off if we could catch the fucking ball

More and more likely with the rain. But they'll have similar problems in the next test, they've come up against batsmen they can't remove.

The rain is saving this test match for us. I'd say enough time lost now so if we make the follow on we're safe.

Obv starting at 1.30 and it's quite nice here now, blue skies, some cloud cover but think it will blow over, looks set for the afternoon.

I reckon you need England to avoid the follow on and then you should get some cricket tomorrow.

Tricky decision if for them if Australia bowl England out for h set 300 though.

Yep, it's getting so predictable the scorers might as well just pencil it in beforehand.
