Pepe Reina, Lucas Leiva and Luis Alberto all started for Lazio in the Rome Derby win yesterday.

Dom Solanke on fire in the Championship with 6 in 9.

Rhian Brewster doing less well.

I assumed Wilson wasn't doing much as I haven't heard him mentioned, but he's got 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 games which is a good return.

He cant seem to get going at all.

Some similarities with Solanke who took ages to get going also, but yeah. Daylight robbery.

Always rated Solanke, so good see him doing well.

Brewster I never really go on board with.

This thread needs a wee sprinkling of Aly Cissokho magic. He’s now plying his trade in the Thai second division but let’s take a moment to savour the good times:

With Liverpool, for whom he played from 1958-69, Hunt won the top division in 1964 and 1966, and the FA Cup in the season in between, under Bill Shankly. He made 492 appearances for the club and scored 285 goals.

Liverpool were in the Second Division when Hunt joined and his 41 goals in 41 games helped them to the title in 1962. He was the leading scorer for eight seasons in a row, enjoyed a highly successful partnership with Ian St John and was the clubs leading goalscorer until his record was passed by Ian Rush.
A club legend. RIP.

As ever, Jurgen says it so perfectly and succinctly...

Quote:
Jrgen Klopp has paid tribute to Roger Hunt after the legendary former Liverpool forward passed away peacefully at home following a long illness.

With 285 strikes in 492 appearances for the Reds during 11 highly successful years between 1958 and 1969, Hunt is the second-highest goalscorer in the clubs history.

Its really sad news and our thoughts and our love go to his family, Klopp said.

Unfortunately, it feels too frequent in this moment we are saying farewell to these giants of our club.

Roger Hunt comes second to no-one in his importance in the history of Liverpool FC, that much is clear.

To be the goalscoring catalyst of the Shankly team to actually achieve promotion and then go on to win those precious league titles and the FA Cup puts him in a bracket of LFC legends who are responsible for making us the club we are today. Not only that, he was also a World Cup winner in 1966, too.

I am told the Kop christened him 'Sir Roger' for all his achievements. A goalscorer who never stopped working to help his teammates; I believe he would have fit in well within our current team.

So, it is Sir Roger we will remember, honour and pay tribute to over the coming days.

Youll Never Walk Alone.

I’d love to know how Klopp comes across in German. In his second language he appears to have a pitch perfect understanding for nuance and tone. He just continually nails management and leadership.

He’s right though in that we seem to be saying farewell to the pillars of our great club too regularly. It’s inevitable I know but sad all the same.

Daniel Sturridge has signed for Perth Glory in the Australian A League

It's one of the few places in the world with low incidences of COVID and therefore spare hospital capacity.

Only just turned 32. Sad that at that age he's playing at that level. What a player he was.

Bloody hell. Studge in the A-League in what should be his prime really. Sad

If he's fit and motivated he should absolutely destroy the carthorse defenders we have in this league

that goal was amazing.

Remember when Jurgen first started at LFC, sturridge was injured i think?? He was told that he had to do a full "pre-season" fitness program before he would return to the fold. And if he broke down, then he'd need to start again.

I wonder did that break him!!

Poor old Brewster can’t even score for England U21’s & was replaced on 70 mins. Did anyone see the match? We led 2-0 away from home but ended 2-2 apparently.
