The bitters on GOT are starting to panic now as Rooney leaving means Fat Sam is staying and Moshiri is full of shit.

The examples that stick in my mind are the sackings of Nigel Adkins at Soton and Mike Phelan at Hull. Both clubs massively upgraded in the mangers department even if the sackings were a little harsh, but the entire punditry boys club rounded on both clubs and proclaimed that they had doomed themselves. Granted Hull still went down but they were a much better team under Silva than they were under Phelan.

Of course we don't want them to do well but let's take our rival hats off, who would be the best manager for them?

I always want them to do well, just slightly less well than us. But I'm a OOT who doesn't have to deal with toffees every day. I enjoy laughing at them, but without malice. They're like the annoying little brother.

Eddie Howe maybe. He doesn't seem to be getting a shout for the big big jobs but would be a step up with a little more exposure. Could be good for both of 'em.

Seriously? I want them to stay in business, any more than that is an annoyance. Yo-yoing between league one and the championship would be ideal.

I did say 'putting aside rivalries'. Can you be objective?

I was talking to EwarWoo.

But yes, I can be objective about it. They should have stuck with fat Sam, it would have aligned their fans expectations with reality. Safely midtable and they get to kick our players twice a season.

Nothing official on the BBC but this is on the Gossip page...

The Toffees will sack Allardyce in the next 48 hours and are closing in on the appointment of former Watford boss Marco Silva

Try 5 and a half months. Over a million a month on top of his half a million a month salary.

I wonder if they work in pairs?

Send one manager in to fuck shit up, send another in to manage bare minimum rescue act?

Receive insane redundancy package.

Repeat.

Whoever has a shit start to the seaon next will be all over fat Sam like a tramp on chips.

...assuming fat sam leaves any chips for the tramps.

I dont know if anyone watched Sam on the SSN last night

You had Jim White fawning over him and saying how great a job he had done as usual and how unfairly he was being treated by the fans

You also had Allardyce revelling in his own shit about how fantastic he is etc..

All of this in front of Richard Bevan (head of the LMA) who threw in his usual crap

The amount of protection and lipservice they pay to certain managers is astounding

I don't really get why they seem so hellbent on Marco Silva either.

Won 30% of his games with Watford and 36% with Hull.

27 points from 22 games with Hull
29 points from 26 games with Watford.

Took Hull down and was on the way to doing the same with Watford.

Hardly inspiring stuff is it?

Maybe they want some excitement again, they aren't going to do it at the top end of the table so why not anecessarily heroic escape from relegation

what exactly do they think they can achieve maybe move up to the dizzy heights of 7th as really cant see them breaking into the top 6 and as for silva really dont see what that will improve either apart from getting rid of allardyce

They're stupid fuckers.

They had Martinez and his total football. Who got nowhere so they sacked him.

They had Koeman and his total football. They sacked him.

They hired Fat Sam who plays shit football bit gets the job done to be fair and took them from almost certain relegation to 8th place finish.

So sam came in and saved their asses and they went from bottom three all the way to eighth place.
So in games played since sam joined where would they have ended if the league started from that point. Would it be the equivalent of a top four?
