It genuinely wasn't meant to be. You're bringing your same, age old, filthy, snide, sarcastic negativity that is your whole MO in there to the football forum. There's nothing funny about it.

From my brother in law (Stoke City): any truth in the rumour that Maguire was defending the security gate?

Can we maybe agree to disagree on some subjects and for personal attacks keep those to a separate thread the rest of us can keep out of?

Both windows go down, Carragher gobs - which can be seen flying through the open window, the girl is heard saying: "he spat on me".

For those cheering on the ‘save man Utd’ protests, just what is the worthy cause? They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, they’re second in the league, they’ve got a manager popular with fans, they outspend almost everyone else, and more than the vast majority of the football pyramid combined, what else do they want? If the Glazers didn’t take money out then what? They could buy total success on the pitch, build a stadium on the moon, what?

I think thereís a similarity to our title celebrations last year- where it might have been mostly peaceful but the 1% of clowns that damage property etc, are the ones that dominate the headlines and brings bad name to the rest of us, as LFC fans- so I donít wanna say how horrible united fans are etc, because in reality it could have been fans from any club.

However, really pisses me off when Neville and carragher say it was just the 1 or 2 idiots- it was hundreds, maybe thousands who broke into the stadium.. Neville saying most of those who came into the stadium were peaceful- what a stupid mentality to have.

And all the talk on sky is about the message of the protest, did they go too far etc, no one is talking about how poor the security is. They knew there was planned protests, and they werenít able to keep the stadium secure?! Security should have been much easier today than on a normal, non covid season match day, as there was not meant to be any fans inside the stadium at all... Iím not sure if itís a problem at old trafford, or at prem league stadiums in general, but itís pretty scary to think that this could happen- imagine what might have happened, if the protest was scheduled for during the game, and they got into the stadium while the players were there. And if a mob of protestors can get into the stadium this easily, could a terrorist?

It's already been pointed out on the forum but Murdoch doesn't own Sky - it's owned by the US corporation Comcast.

He certainly started the ball rolling when he said words to the effect that football (sport) would be used as a battering ram to drive his pay-tv business. And subsequent owners of Sky have kept that ball rolling.

True, but he did when the current football structure was devised and he started throwing money at the majority of people currently publicly lamenting the state of the game.

There's no question that a mega money TV deal was a central component in the plan to from the Premier League; the clubs themselves (and the players) were more than happy to be used as the battering ram and reap the financial rewards.

Football game being cancelled. Whatís worst to happen than no end product on the pitch?

Their protest was effective as the point was to disrupt. Whether their message is clear or not, weíll have to wait and see but the fear now this could happen again.

Iíd say fair play to them, itís the first time a game of football has been postponed due to fans protest, and the biggest game in English football at that.

I’ll admit to a slight bias but shouldn’t we be awarded a 0-3 win?

I have to say I am somewhat surprised by some of the reaction in here to this.

Despite the rivalry I can understand the fans dislike of the Glazers, they are doing a similar thing to Man Utd to what H&G did to use although the effects are nowhere near as devastating. They are still able to to make huge net spends every year, I agree with Souness if they were going for the title or CL and had been challenging for the title for the the last few years this wouldn't have happened, super league or no super league. The 'green and gold until the club is sold' campaign has been 'going' for 10+years but you hardly see or hear anything about, so aside from a fairly small minority it seems that few of them really give a shit.

The suggestion that this was one or two fans is as laughable as Neville's defence that 'they didn't storm in they just walked in' There were hundreds of them and their intent was to cancel or at least delay the match, otherwise what was their purpose in going inside the ground whether they just walked in or what. OK not all of them were involved in the violence or criminal damage, but everyone who went in the the ground was in the wrong. If they want to protest there are other ways to do it.

People have made comparisons to the nob head LFC fans who have attacked buses, the club has been fined for those incidents. Those were a few dick heads throwing things who I am not going to defend one bit regardless of them being LFC 'fans'. The was a premeditated attempt to delay or cancel the game aside from the violence or anything else (which are legal matters to be dealt with on an individual basis), but I do feel that Man Utd should be penalised for their actions, clubs are fined for pitch invasions and so on this was much more extreme than that.

Liverpool were in full agreement with postponing because of security concerns (not just in the stadium, but outside OT and the team hotels).

Itís not like we still wanted to play but Utd failed to fulfil the fixture.

Here's the 'one or two individuals just walking in' according to Sky earlier

I was making the most of the last of the sunshine by enjoying an unearned beer and listening to some nice Choons in the garden.

After I finished my can, I crushed it with my foot to flatten it ready for the recycling bin.

We have these "decorative" pebbly stones down the side of the house by the back door. I chucked the empty can on stones, stepped, and.... SHRIEKED! Fucks sake. A massive, brown rusty nail embedded through the sole of my shoe, and indeed a minimum of a centimetre into my foot.

My wife had had to extract it from my foot, with the thing still in my shoe. Took the shoe off and the nail was an inch in to the inside.

And all this at the exact moment my neighbour was popping over for an impromptu al fresco beer.
