Of all City's players, he's the one I feared the most. I'm absolutely delighted he's on his way back to Germany!

I think his injury was also a big reason for them being so far behind.

Brilliant player, Bayern have put together one of, if not the strongest squad in football.

Hope Carra can get through the night alright, not to mention Tyler, as the technically fucking stupendous team have their third successive away defeat.

Champion form.

All the talk of the great finish for the Southampton goal yesterday, where the fuck was the questioning over the keeper. He's massively overrated for me.

I think we have a few even this season.

I seem to remember we used to have a big problem with comebacks, but it's not a problem now.

1 in 1/4 of a century is vey surprising. Even if they were shite for half of it.

It's only PL games and they must have been out of the PL for the best part of 10 years during that time, so it's only really 15 years

They’ve been in the PL since 2002 and had one year in previous to that.

So 19 out of 25 years.

6 years? I thought that they were out for longer than that, maybe it was just wishful thinking

edit: 158 times, according to lfc stats. Doesn't tell us the final result though and I'm too lazy to manually count.

Guardiola convinced Manchester City will escape Champions League ban

Jamie Jackson
Fri 10 Jul 2020 16.12 BST
  • Manager fully expects club’s appeal to be successful
  • ‘I’m so confident. Next season we will be there’
Pep Guardiola is confident Manchester City will have their two-year ban from Uefa competition quashed when the court of arbitration for sport delivers its verdict on the club’s appeal on Monday.

In February City were given the suspension after being found to have seriously misled Uefa and broken financial fair play rules. Yet Guardiola expects the club to be in the Champions League next season.

“On Monday I’m so confident – because I know and hear the arguments of the club – [that] next season we will be there and after I will give my opinion and the club will give a statement,” City’s manager said.

City play Real Madrid in next month’s Champions League last-16 second leg at the Etihad Stadium, holding a 2-1 lead. If they progress they will face Juventus or Lyon.

City are going to get away with this aren't they?

I think they will TBH.

The oul Covid has become a threat to business worldwide etc, and City's argument will be based around economic concerns and restrictions around growth etc

Nice little fine/earner for UEFA and welcomed back. Every word from City of late suggests theyll be OK.

Hope I'm wrong of course, and hopefully that perveived arrogance of City towards UEFA will stick in the memory. The volatile nature of the next year or two might just work in their favour though.

Tbh I don't really give a shit. Started to get into a mindset of only worrying about us. "Worrying"

We've won the league and CL in 12 months with those cunts around and at their strongest. Why would we worry? Bring it on. I really don't care.

I'm concerned that they can be given the green light to resolve their defensive issues, as well as replace David Silva, and bring in some players to deal with aging players.

We've kept our consistency, while City have lost theirs, but I fear they will chuck money to bridge the consistency gap. There's also how long we can keep up our own consistency levels, on top of beginning to replenish our squad given the prime ages of a lot of our players.

Ok, but that's the most self centred view possible And I'm not sure it holds, it would kill FFP entirely, and that will be detrimental to us long term.

It’s just a shitter that at the same time as City, Utd, and Chelsea get the go ahead to spend what they like, we’re now going to be cutting our cloth even further.

Not worried about them but would be delighted to see their 'fans' but back in their boxes. Gobby little shits that they are!

Funny thing about City being allowed in the next season's CL would be Utd not getting in if they finish 5th, which is more than likely. Reliant on City not winning it of course but that's more likely than them winning it

€10 million fine so CAS obviously agree they were guilty of wrong doing but the fine is less that they got for the first violation. Surely repeated offences should increase the sanction?
