James Milner

from clickmanchester.com

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Manchester City ace James Milner.

Rumours have emerged that the 25-year-old midfielder is unsettled at Eastlands.

It is understood that Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is keeping tabs on the situation with a view to making a possible bid for the England international.

Milner arrived at Eastlands last August and was a first-team regular for boss Roberto Mancini during his first few months.

However, since then he has found himself often starting from the bench, a situation which is believed to have frustrated the former Aston Villa ace.

Dalglish is keen on Milner’s versatility as he can play in central midfield and on the left flank.

I wondered how long it'd be before we're linked with Milner.

Oh good.

We should sign Michael Chopra. Not because he's good but because he's British and a foreigner at the same time. Win - Win!!

One of the most overrated players in the Prem - I mean City paid something like 25 million for him & he's worth 10 million tops...

I'm mates with Steve Black's sons and they worked with him for a while. When they were doing strength and balance work me and my mates used to go and help out. Chopra is a very nice bloke, which was amazing given that our job was to basically go in to the back of him as hard as possible to know him away from the ball.

Assuming for a minute that this link was real how much would you be happy to see us spend on him?

Come on guys get a grip. OK so he's not Aguero or Nani but FFS 3m?!?!?

He's about as much use as Ashley Young and a similar age.

I'm not sure, and I've been saying for a while that I don't think speculation about fees is particularly helpful. I would however have preferred him to Henderson or any of the other midfielders we have been linked with (possibly except Mata and with the qualification that I haven't seen that much of Henderson).

I can't see City selling him for much less than they paid, so whether he's worth that or not I can't see us offering that much for him.

I think he's worth 15m in today's market. And he'd be a great fit in our team, works like a cart horse and has good energy and delivery.

I'd say something similar but City paid ~10m more than that for him so I can't see them letting him go for that kind of loss, (especially to someone who will be a rival for a top 4 spot).

Without meaning to sound derogatory, we have Kuyt who does the same job.

Milner is decent. No more and no less. City would want much more than what he's really worth (IMO).

He's more dynamic than Kuyt IMO, but Kuyt is a better finisher, as you'd expect from an ex (current?) striker.
