I think over much of the last 30 years we have had a number of managers who have bought good players but haven't known what to do with them, often buying no 10 type players and trying to play them out wide.

It sounds simple but I think a big part of Klopp's success is due to having a system and bringing in players who suit that system, rather than buying good players and trying to figure out what to do with them

Jari Litmanen springs to mind as another good example of this. Criminally wasted by Ged.

Yip he was my first thought too....

Not sure on the others though. I think we bought loads of players that turned out to be a little bit shit throughout the years.........some who we had big hopes for. I thought Kewell would be amazing for us when he signed. The end of the Houllier years were criminal for that (anelka and Duff would have been great additions...... All for the cost of diouf, diao, and cheyrou!)

We can so easily turn that down, worth double. Bayern are struggling to shake off Leipzig and Dortmund in the Bundas which we are champs league winners last season and are smashing the life out of everyone.

Wouldn't it be grand if we beat Atletico Madrid and then beat Bayern in the next round with a Firmino no-look goal.

Maybe Alisson will send his disciples out into the world to preach his teachings

we have some team don't we!!! Laughing at a rumoured 75m offer for a player that you could argue is the 6th or 7th most important player for us (don't get me wrong, you could argue he is the most important too!)

In reality though, I think LFC would not even consider a 100m bid for any of the following:

- Alisson
- Trent
- Virgil
- Mo
- Sadio
- Firmino

It's not a case of having an importance rank, they're all equally important to the way we play.

Removing an essential piece without a similar player that's been fully immersed in the new Liverpool way would be out of the question.

Agree. It not about individuals, ranking and worth. Its a team game.

Plus the value of our strongest 13/14 players, none should go for less the 100mill each

I suppose the point i am trying to make is we've never had a team this fuckin good!!! As long as I have been watching LFC, we've always had a few players that we top notch but never this many.

I skimmed over an article earlier today that mentioned there could be 10 LFC players in the premier league team of the year. The midfield was Hendo, Fab and De Bruyne. My first thought was "hmmmm that's a bit harsh on Gini" - ha ha it's fuckin crazy. If the premier league team of the year was Alisson, Trent, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Hendo, Gini, Fabinho, Mane, Firmino and Salah, how fuckin cool would that be?!?! The gammon masses would choke on their cornflakes - but you know what, it wouldn't be undeserved at all would it!!!

Fabinho more likely to miss out than Gini imo, due in part to the two months he missed. Gini has been fantastic and should be in the midfield with Henderson and KDB imo.
