Football Break (Ideas and Suggestions)

So with this break, thought we should try and do something to keep us going. I love football, and Liverpool. So why not reconnect with some of our glorious past? Podcast I regularly listen too picks a match a week to talk about. Memories, history, and the game itself. So is anyone up for it? Nice little discussion about our best front 3 from 95? Or a lively debate about how good Fowler actually was?

Whatís the consensus? Iíll try and facilitate anything tbh. Letís get rocking.

My first suggestion is the Gerrard Final.

Also thinking about running a ďGreatest TeamĒ competition. See if we can fill out an 11.

We need to take isolation seriously.

Marky will have had another barring lifted just before the venue closes for social distancing protocols

Are you thinking of a sub forum with different threads? Could work

Definitely be good to blow the cobwebs of some of those old memories.

We could start with 'Gareth Barry or Xabi Alonso'

Stick with Anelka or bring in Diouf.

I think a sub forum with classic matches (or groups of matches such as a particular CL seasons) would be good, especially if we can find the match or substantial highlights of it online. I think we should try and have a 'fixture list' so that everyone is engaged in the same matches at the same time, otherwise there is no real coherent discussion.

So is Alex going to start things off with the Gerrard Final, or is that it?

The Gerrard final.

West Ham scored an OG, a shot spilled by the keeper who'd been superb all season, and a fucking mishit cross. We scored 3 superb goals and had a perfectly good Crouch goal wrongly disallowed.

We were poor that day but christ it should never have got to penalties. I'll never forget Anton Ferdinand missing one and Rio being in the commentary box double gutted

Crouch was speaking about this in the latest That Peter Crouch podcast. He said he was offside!

How about we review every single match of the last 5 seasons and include VAR decisions.......and see how it would have played out......

I don't think Anton ever got over that one as never heard of him since that match!

He was the subject of racial abuse by John Terry about 5 or so years after that final, surely you heard about that.

He was supposedly very highly rated at one point, but I agree that never really worked out...
