Remember the Carling Cup Final a few years ago between Arsenal and Chelsea? John Terry stuck his head in like a brave Ingerlish lion and was hoofed and collapsed unconcious to the ground out of it.
5 seconds after it happened, I received a text from my mate "Haha, Terry's fuckin dead!!! LLOLLLZZ"
It made me laugh. it was a timing thing.
Anyway, that would have been the best dead player.

I nearly put John Colquhoun in.
I mainly realised I just haven't seen that many good players live.
Dead however...

It was the eyes, as soon as the close up of him lying flat with his eyes a bit open moved to the players waving the physio on - thats when I got my mate's text.
He also did the same when Pacquiao KO'd Hatton with
"Haha, Hatton's fuckin dead, LOLLZZZ!!"

fanastic player but i'd love someone to smash the bastard from behind and then see him get up and round rings round them. the game today is tailored to players of his ilk. they are so protected. seems a top lad though, if he can produce in a world cup and score 60 a season until he retires he'll go down as the best ever. jury is out until then.

He get booted all over though, and 9 times out of 10 he rides the 'challenge' or is brought down and gets straight back up again. Spanish football is brutal at times, I hate this myth about our league being tougher physically. There are some right hatchet men in Spain, often South American of course.

He can't be considered a true great until he's been booted by Robert Huth on a rainy Tuesday night at Stoke.

Indeed. Tha Maradona fight I jokingly posted earlier on was his retaliation after the same opposition fucking up his ankle with a horrendous late tackle in the reverse fixture the season before. That was when Maradona was being man marked and basically kicked to fuck at any given opportunity.

I didn't mean our league I meant football in general. sure he gets some rough stuff but not like what dalglish and co had in their day. when they were targeted throughout the game. kick them hard in the air early on and then chances are they'll struggle to play well when they're covered in bruises and limping. defenders these days are only a tackle away from a red at any stage, one ,mis timed tackle and they can go. so they're unable to dish it out for long in a match. attackers with pace definately have it easier than before what with the pitches being flat as a bowling green and the balls being lighter. Its why for me John Barnes free kick against Arsenal when he bends it in, is better than any free kick today, because then it was purely the skill of the player yet now anyone from ryan taylor at newcastle can swing their boot and it flys in all over the shop.
BUT you can only play what the game is within your generation. Messi is head and shoulders the best I've seen for 20 years.

Thanks Tee.
I saw Zanetti as well. And Batistuta. And also Roberto Baggio (and Dino too, but he doesn't qualify) and Maldini.

He absolutely haunts Ronaldo. Love it.

Asked about the Messi chants, Ronaldo said: "You know where he was at this time [last year]? Do you know? He was being eliminated in the Copa America, in his own country. I think that's worse, no?"

He will never be as good as Messi and he knows it and it must kill him. Messi does it with ease and is all about the team where as that grease ball is all about himself.
