Corona exercise thread - set yourself a target
Just forced a 5k out of myself on the treadmill in 33:15, going to set a target of 30:00 by the end of April
Also did 1k on the rower in 4:58, aiming to get that down to 4:00, also by the end of April.
Need to shift an embarrassing amount of fat. I'm 92kg today, would love to be 80kg. I'm going to add some weights and burpees etc once I start to get fitter
What's your target?

After panicking over a slightly tight feeling throat on Wednesday I have self-isolated most likely without need so I am now working from home and not doing my usual 5-8 thousand steps a day so I'm going to join in.
Target is to trim down generally. When I went away for work in October 2018 I was the heaviest I have ever been at 13.5 stone and set myself 'Operation Top Button' target. I wanted to be able to fasten the top button of my shirt in time for the 2019 Christmas party. Got to 12 flat but just not quite enough.
Going to aim to be able to do 100 sit-ups and 100 press ups before work, at lunch, and after work by the end of April. Once I am out of self-isolation I may head out a few evenings for a walk along the nature trail or beaches of the Wirral.

I'm aiming to lose another 4kg. Assuming I'm still 108kg, that will take me to within 14kg of my ultimate aim.

Well yes but I could still lose this belly! My perfect weight would be around 88kg. I'm not a broad shouldered athletic type.

Best thing you can do is watch your diet, cut carbs out if you can (Bread, muesli, porridge, white potatoes) and milk, cheese, yoghurt. Fuck all them off and combined with fitness you'll soon lose weight. And beer too.
If you feel hungry drunk some low calorie or sugar free pop, the bubbles and gas help Curb hunger.

I've had a few drinks tonight and that packet of prawn crackers called me to him. As long as it's less calories in than out then it's all good!

It's hard mate but doable. I did it for 3 months and lost 3 stone and have pretty much kept my fitness and health regime the same since. I drank Rasberry Sodas on nights out, no headache and felt much better next day and it's a nice drink. Same at home, or sugar free Mango and Apple pop from Asda, tastes exactly the same as having a gin minus the alcohol. If you have a craving for cheese, eat a rice cake. Salt and Vinegar or Paprika are nice and Home Bargains do some good ones. Turkey rashers and fried eggs for breakfast and a carrot to snack on mid morning, then chicken sausage with salad for lunch. Piece of piss lads. You'll feel much better for it and it's nice food.

I started doing the couch to 5k a few weeks ago, will continue doing that by going for a run every couple of days while we are still allowed outside. I run around the park and barely see another person so it's maintaining social distancing

My usual weekly exercise consists of 1 hour of 5 a side, and half hour walk to / from work most days. Those are also scuppered now of course.
I've not set any targets for replacements, but I'm trying to do some sit ups, press ups and stretches when I can motivate myself.
I've also forced myself onto the treadmill a few times. It's so fucking boring though. So far, I just press the 9 (kph) button and run for 3k / 20 mins.

Missus is desperately searching for a squat rack for home but they’re all sold out. She’s switched to online training of her clients and we are gonna pick up her Oly bar plus 80K so it’s light reps for next few months.
This is where I wish I had a garage.

I have a powercage in my garage with pull down attachments so fully set-up. Need to get back into it but, took a break and struggling to find motivation. Thats nothing to do with covid but, more to do with being a fat lazy drunken arse.
I also have a treadmill, but can't stand using it, feels really unnatural, but if needs must. For now can still head outside for a walk over here, just using common sense and social distancing.

Sounds like you'll be ok
I'm already resigned to losing muscle mass.
Might as well try to get ripped and learn yoga at 50

Genuine question - is anybody doing outdoor exercise eg running or cycling? It's currently allowed in New South Wales. Is it allowed in the UK?

You can go out once a day for exercise (Walk, Run, Cycle) the bit that is unclear is how long you are 'allowed' to be out for.
Some of the cyclists i saw out yesterday looked like they were going for a good few hours worth of riding.

I find it confusing in Sydney. Some things are 'allowed' but I'm not sure if they are socially acceptable.

We're using our permitted outdoor time to walk together as a family. We've a full contingent of equipment so topping up cardio and stuff at home.
I posted a picture of my rowing time to our badminton WhatsApp group and one of them said 'where's the sanitiser?' if we could get our hands on some it wouldn't get wasted in a private space that only me and the kids can get in to

I wanted to pop over to my parents to collect some compost but wasn't sure if I should. I asked my neighbour (traffic police) and he said there was no emergency legislation in place yet and they hadn't been briefed to stop and fine anyone. He also said what harm would it do to drive in a car on my own, not interact with my parents and then drive home. I guess it's unnecessary traffic on the roads but they are so quiet now and I wouldve gone at 5am

Spent this morning setting up wifi in my gym instead. Now I have spotify through an echo, training plans on my treadmill and can hopefully stream yoga through a Roku.
Does anyone know any good exercise channels on YouTube? I definitely want to try Yoga as my movement is awful

Only been doing it a couple of days but this seems pretty good.
Loads of different routines and some anxiety meditation.
