Is Kabak eligible for the Brighton game midweek? If so, it might be he starts that one alongside Hendo, so Klopp can see if he is ready for the City game. Match fitness won't be a problem, and it might be a risk worth taking against a side less likely to attack (famous last words, i know). I think in an ideal world we would want Hendo back in the MF alongside Thiago and Gini for the City game.

Is Kabak even in Liverpool yet? No trace of him at Anfield or the training ground on the official channels. I'd be amazed if he played tomorrow.

The sooner we get Hendo back in midfield the better IMHO.

Saw a pic of him boarding a plane, posted early this morning, so he should be in town soon.

I think he's been able to influence the game just as well from CB, and with the whole game in front of him he's taken his marshalling of the game to an even higher level.
He really is the singularly most important element of our outfield, IMO

Fair enough. I just think we miss him further forward where he is more effective at marshalling the press but there is no arguing with the last two performances and results I guess.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was disagreeing
Yep, he'd be better in his usual position but what I meant was the gap he would've left in defence in the last few games would've been harder to fill than the one he left in midfield. With players currently available. I think he'll stay there for Brighton and then against City we'll see Fab and Phillips at CB and a midfield 3 of Hendo, Milner and Wijnaldum

Even if he is best case scenario is he arrived yesterday afternoon, probably didn't meet the players until today, asking him to play tomorrow is a big ask.

If Fabinho is fit for city there is no chance either newbie gets a start. It will be Hendo and Fab. Too big a game to blood someone new imo.

I'd like to see Kabak get some minutes against Brighton. Agree that is Fab is back in time then neither of the new boys will play against City.

Kabak is still waiting clearance / a work permit I think.

If Fab isn't back in time for the City game, wouldn't it be better for Kazak to have playing time with his new team mates under his belt, or do we trust a Hendo/Philips combo more?

‘Bundesliga expert Chris Williams says that is £12m lower than the fee Liverpool were quoted for Kabak only back in September, after Dejan Lovren departed for Zenit St Petersburg but before the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez suffered long-term injuries.’
If this is true and this is the guy we were looking at, getting him for £12m quid lower in a few months is pretty impressive business. At least we can have a good look at him in the flesh and decide whether we actually want to spend the money on him.

Have to stay with hendo/philips as they have some small connection/time together.
If fab is fit then maybe he will go back into DM.

It would, but like I say he's probably only just met his team mates and not yet trained with them has no experience of our style of play, maybe he could be on the bench at Brighton, but I still think it's a huge ask. There are a few days between now and the City game for him to get experience in training if needed. Playing him is a massive call even if Fab isn't available. It's a tough decision for Klopp in any case, my guess would be Klopp will go Henderson/Fab vs City if possible. If not I guess it comes down to how people train over the next week as to whether it is Kabak, Davies or Phillips who partners Henderson. My guess would be Phillips unless Kabak settles remarkably quickly

Both Kabak and Davies will need at least a few training sessions, a week or more to start getting their tempo/rhythm and our style of play. Can't see either being used extensively in either Brighton or City games. Maybe one of them will get a sub appearance against Brighton but only if it's done and dusted by then. It could be another tight game, so we'll just have to see.
Massive risk playing either, let alone both, against City... and even Leicester. Might see one of them against the Ev or Sheff Utd. Leipzig will be two from Hendo/Fab/Phillips as well.
