That's a fantastic goal. Absolutely fantastic, very little backlift, whipped right across Jaros into the top right. It's Liverpool 2-3 Utd right at the pip of half time in extra time.

Fucking hell, Glatzel heads onto the post after a great header back across goal by Reece Williams. So close...

Great block by Savage on Mason Greenwood who piled through our defence at a rate of knots. He's full of beans and on his hat-trick. I think he has single-handedly dismantled us, although it was a very even game before the sending off.

It's called the Premier League cup which is an equivalent.

I'm not sure you can call it the youth cup now as you can have 3 players well over the age of 23. In my day you were a man at 18 though, and expected to make your way in the world, so I'm not sure how the U23s are seen as youths either!

I don't know how it is in the UK, but individuals in Iceland are living with their parents until their 30's nowadays and generally don't contribute until around the same age.

Well, lots more people are living with their parents as property wealth destroys society but they are generally expected to contribute. When I left home there wasn't really a thought that I'd find it difficult to find somewhere affordable to live or be able to get a job even if it was bit of a crappy one. Zero hours contracts didn't really exist and there were still some unions out there. It was still shit mind.

A horrible clash of heads here has left one of the Utd players in a bit of bother. They're stretchering him off now.

Well they are expected to contribute, but I guess I'm just annoyed that some young kids with no clue are making small fortunes through posting their lives on social media and showing off some products or catch frases.

For game of thrones fans, seeing Jake Cain next to Remi Savage has the air of King Joffrey waiting for a bus with the Hound. You wouldn't have thought they be in the same youth team.

It's still going but Mellor is being taken to an ambulance which has arrived pitchside. This has taken quite a long time.

We now live in a world where our data is our product. I'm not sure the wisdom of unleashing the ultimate networking tool (the interweb) on a species that has such a strong drive to network. There are a lot of times these days I'm grateful for my curmudgeonly misanthropy.

The match starts again as Mellor is inserted into the ambulance and United have one last attack that goes wide. The ref blows the final whistle and it's all over.

It was a good match until the deserved red card for Morgan Boyes, Duncan and Glatzel taking us 2-0 up and might have had another where Duncan's shot looked like it had crossed the line. Then the red - which was a double punishment as the resulting free-kick was whalloped home by Greenwood.

After that we were fairly on the ropes with the occasional break but the legs started to tire allowing Utd to head home from a cross and Longstaff eventually fouled on the edge of our box - Greenwood leathered it into the top corner giving Longstaff no chance.

The lads played well considering but this is the 4th match against Utd that we've had a red card. We need total concentration.

It ends Liverpool 2-3 United.

Nice goal by Glatzel from close range after being set up by Sharif though.

All over, 0-1 win at West Ham. Nice goal by Glatzel but otherwise not much to say.

Liverpool U23s vs Everton U23s about to start. The Ox has been sent down a class to start recuperating.

Mother of god, first header on goal by Everton and it comes off the bar. This is not the script in any shape or form.

Is he playing or do you mean he's been sent down to the U21s?

It's actually all completely wrong. There was a strong rumour he'd be playing today to aid his recuperation but it looks like it might be on Friday instead. Don't go chuffing a sub on LFCTV in order to see him tonight as you'll be disappointed.

Talking of disappointment, Everton score. We lose the ball in midfield and it's pushed out to the right. A good pass across the face of goal and it's tapped in at the far post.

Liverpool 0-1 Everton

Christy Davis is giving the ball away and passing short, a shaky start. Talking of shakey starts, LFCTV is playing up and going offline a lot.

After a bit of bobbling in the Everton box Ben Woodburn hooks it miles wide. Everton break up the other end and fire just wide.

Hoever has quite the cross on him I have to say. Everton are the better side here though, better passing, running and shape. Our quality hasn't been good so far. Neil Critchley looks livid.

Woodburn with a little bit of something there, receiving the ball in the Everton box, looping it over his own head and hitting it on the turn. Can't get any power though.

Everton get another chance with their number 9 heading it just over the bar from another decent cross. If he's under 23 I'm a monkey's uncle, he looks like Kris Kristofferson.

Great pass by Johnstone from the back up to Lewis on the right, he crosses and as the ball comes out Hoever drives it over the bar.
