He looks ready to step up next season, watched the U23 season highlights and I was constantly thinking whos that lad .. oh its Brewster .. again, looks like he at the very least deserves a shot.

I've also read somewhere that Klopp wants to fast track him next year and is the reason why we won't go in the market for a centre forward.

Stats show 6 goals in 15 appearances.

Says a lot for the rest of the team then.

I think that's more of of a contract negotiation tactic, rather than an indication of our transfer plans.

1 in 2 practically .. not bad ... whats his assists, do we know. Technically he looks head and shoulders above his team mates though

I've seen this too but I don't really understand why none of the young players got a sniff towards the end of this season when the first team looked knackered. I really thought we would see more of Woodburn but this applied to Solanke and Brewster too IMO.

Looking at the available evidence Klopp thinks Ings is a better option than all of the above.

I think maybe the odds were a bit too high (CL qualification) and that was a bit too much to be asked of them.

I think the idea is maybe to blood them in the cups and hope they emerge and stake a claim more consistently.

My feeling is that given how knackered we looked it would have done no harm. The West Brom and Stoke matches really seemed to be calling out for us to have some fresh legs/minds in there.

Solanke got a couple of starts, I thought Brewster was injured? But I was surprised Woodburn didn't get more game time.

Ah, hadn't realised he was injured.

It was mentioned quite a few months ago, that Klopp wanted to fast-track Brewster into first-team training, and give him opportunities on the bench and possibly some game time.

It's up to Brewster to impress during pre-season, and the same goes to Wilson.

I doubt he'll be back for preseason.

If the likes of Brewster and Wilson make enough of a contribution to become meaningful squad players, then it will allow us to spend more of our transfer budget on top quality players. Like VVD, Keita, Fabinho and hopefully Fekir or another Fekir.

Good luck to the lad.

I never quite got the hype when I saw him play for the youth team but the staff all do seem to rave about him. Who's he going to replace though?

The lad believes and backs himself. Nothing wrong with that.

Said the exact same thing myself the other day.

I've seen him have some good games and score some great goals (cracking volley and lob at start of season) but for whatever reason he's never stood out as much as say Woodburn, Wilson, Suso, Pachecho, or even the likes of Morgan or Spearing at that level.

Like you say, he's highly rated for a reason though and I think back to when I thought Sterling was overrated as I felt people got carried away with that 5 goal showing in the youth cup. I was wrong then, so happy to be proven wrong again.

Glad he's staying though as he obviously is a good player and anyone with pace can be lethal in a Klopp team if good enough.

How good is this lad?

Any chance of him making the first team squad this coming season?

Wasn't Klopp saying he was going to be fast tracked into the first team squad this year.

... unless that was just to get him to sign a new deal

I'm not sure there will be enough opportunities for both him and Solanke, IMO at least one of them need to go out on loan to get experience

Is this the first time a player currently outside the he first team has done the "lean" poses? Does it mean he's stepping up to the big leagues now?

Our new #24. He was photographed training with the first team today, maybe we'll see him play in the following weeks. The club must have promised him something.

For sure. I think he was the top scorer in one of the European youth comps last summer for England & a real standout at that level. Hope he makes the step up

I'd like to finally see this injured miracle boy in action, yet to play a single minute of senior football

When's he due back again?
