Madness, he's the most average forward I think I've ever seen, he doesn't excel at even one aspect of his role.

He came back to join in the fun for a bit after we won the league, but I don't think he's been seen since.

He was a big fan of Torres Morata too, which made me think of him.

Is he really an upgrade on Semedo or are they just really, really skint? Seems quite odd.

They are skint, but he should be able to replace Semedo as he's not up to much either.
The loser in all of this is Wolves who had the best RB of the chain in Doherty, the oldest of the lot tbf. Not as if that would concern Mourinho though.
Never understood the Doherty signing.

I can't think of a bigger shithouse attacking lineup than them! Any takers?

Been trying to think of one but it’s hard - Maybe Fashanu and Gibson at Wimbledon

Nah, Ferguson and Shearer were just a couple of temperamental goons, prone to the occasional bout of GBH.
They didn’t have the levels of shit-housery that Suarez and Costa have.
It’s an art form for them.

Ross Barkley to Villa on loan.
I'm not a huge fan of his, but Villa seem to be doing some interesting things with their recruitment, and I think they might surprise a few people this season with a solid mid-table finish.

Fantastic loan signing to be honest and I think a mistake from Chelsea to loan him out.

Interesting is the right word because we need to see if they turn out to be successful - they brought in a highly rated young Danish sporting director from Copenhagen towards the end of last year if I remember correctly. As we have seen the right recruitment is paramount towards building success

Sky said on Monday I think that Dembele really, really doesn't want to leave Barca. So am sure he'll be absolutley delighted to end up there of all places if it does happen!

Yeah I've seen that too, wasn't interested in either us or Juventus when we were making enquiries (about a loan). Imagine if he turned us and them down and ends up working for Ole!

We'll see how he gets on. I don't think he's a special player. Looked promising as a kid in a mediocre Everton squad but has never caught up with the hype. Was out injured for his last season at Everton so got his Chelsea move mainly based on reputation, and his England call-ups. He's looked pretty mediocre playing alongside better players and only scored 4 league goals in three years.
Its good that villa got him on loan rather than permanent, to me he seems like the kind of Joe Cole like player that bottom half clubs sign on huge wages based on hope rather than judgement, a sort of big name player that optimistic fans can get excited by but doesn't really work out.
Or, not for the first time, I'll be totality wrong and he'll end up as their figurehead as they snatch a Europa spot

Possibly different tho, for us he would be coming in as cover for the front 3, and not guaranteed a start. For United it would be as a guaranteed starter, much better for the player even if in a much weaker side.

Yeah I get you. He's definitely not a special player, although at the very start at Everton it looked like he might be. But he is pretty decent and I think it's a big lift in quality for Villa. If he stays fit I think he'll do well for them.
I think he's a good option off the bench for Chelsea and in certain games they might be looking at the bench for someone to bring on and wishing they still had him. Their midfield options really aren't that good so I'm just a tiny bit surprised they let him go on loan.

Have to agree, the bluenoses love an over hyped midfielder, whatever happened to Jack Rodwell?
