Iíd imagine itís way shorter that if it was played in Brazil? Surely thereís a direct flight from LA to Liverpool or via London at worst no?

No direct flights - but have Liverpool, City etc pooled together the past few games and hired a pvt jet to reduce the travel times for the south american contingents?

That was usually the case with us, City, PSG & Chelsea have done on occasions in the past so why should it change?

To be honest tho, how much does travel take out of a player. They'll be travelling in comfort, they will probably try to sleep at a set time to limit any effects of jet lag...I swear I've heard Klopp mention in interviews that travel time is not the issue, it's more the lack of tactical training he's able to do?

I'm sure I read they travel in a private jet and get physio treatment on the plane etc.

So yeah it's not normal travel. It's still got to take something out of them though?

We’ve been clubbing together for chartered jets with City for both club’s South American players over recent seasons I think?

But yeah, long haul flights take a lot of stress on the body, comfy seats or not.

You’re dealing with less oxygen, dehydration, swelling, a drop in cortisol levels (which can mean impaired co-ordination for as much as 48 hours after).

Players seem to make light of it most of the time. But there’s no way a Bobby Firmino who’s been on an 11 hour flight,2 days before playing, is going to be as sharp and fit as if he hadn’t.

Mood.

And lastly, Klopp was asked a question in Austrian relating to RB Salzburg - Liverpool's Champions League group opponents.

Klopp said: "Can I translate? Yes, Salzburg are very impressive. That is the summary."

'Newcastle won't be easy, I'm really impressed by solutions they've found'

"Newcastle are good, really difficult for them with Rafa leaving," Klopp told the media.

"For Steve Bruce, for sure has a difficult job but he has done fantastic so far. They have kept the style of last season.

"They sold Rondon, got Joelinton and he is similar. They have speed for counters.

"It won't be easy. People expect it, probably, but I am really impressed by the solutions they have found so far."

'This club is wonderful'

On the international break: "They are all difficult. Very intense periods always. I don't think I experience a difference between the different breaks.

"You need to be lucky they all come back healthy. We are used to that. The top six have more players busy in that period."

On squad morale: "We have to make sure we have a wonderful atmosphere in the group. We work hard for that and we try to keep that. We just try to improve all the time.

"This club is wonderful and it's just the atmosphere hasn't always been like this. The players like each other a lot."

'We deserved unbeaten home record'

Liverpool haven't lost a Premier League game at Anfield since April 2017.

Klopp on Liverpool's home record: "We don't think about it. We know as well, records are there to be broken.

"Each team could have done it but we were mostly better and deserved it.

"Only thing I'm concerned about is how we can be in a better mood and shape than Arsenal. That was a high level.

"We have to make sure they day [the record ends] is far away in the future. We can only give everything tomorrow. We have a chance to win, so we must do it."

'Football without luck is a different battle'

On Mane/Salah getting a break: “They are refreshed and hopefully we can use that.

"Life without luck is difficult. Football without it is a difficult battle.

"That's normal and we accept that long ago. Can you influence luck? We work for it."

'Newcastle did a lot of really good stuff'

On Newcastle: "To win the Champions League, we didn't change a lot of things. We had to talk about it but that is part of winning something. The boys are still the same, a good bunch of footballers and they will show it again tomorrow. Newcastle will fight like crazy.

"If you want to ask about Newcastle, I will answer. They did a lot of really good stuff against Tottenham. The last home game was Arsenal and we needed the atmosphere. Another one at 12:30 and we can do something."

'No timescale on Alisson'

Liverpool boss, and newly-named manager of the month for August, Jurgen Klopp, is here.

He's on time. Thank you Jurgen, I appreciate you.

Klopp on Alisson: "We had lunch together and he is improving. A really serious injury but we don't know exactly. There is no timescale."

On Naby Keita: "Naby is close. He could be in training when we come back from Napoli next week."

Arguably Ox offers us more with his pace. Up to Shaq to change that perception.

Ox probably better suited to the position and on equal terms I'd have expected him to play but just thought after sacrificing International football, Shaq would have started.

Good team. Should be more than enough to beat Newcastle and gives a couple players a rest before the Napoli game.

Typical that he's a player who supposedly averages a goal about every 20 games manages to get one like that against us

Thumping finish tb, we would have been proud of that one. We do always seem to struggle when we lose position in that part of the pitch.

I've rarely seen us give the ball away as much in 20mins.

Firmino is a big miss to the front three. We struggle with the low block when he's not in the team.
