The Championship

Didn't catch much of Hull and Blackpool on Friday and have only seen the results from yesterday, but watching West Ham and Cardiff City now.

West Ham *should* walk this league; the squad they have is pretty impressive for that tier and they should have enough about them to play decent football before Fat Sam hammers (pun kinda intended) home his *methods*.

Granted they might lose a few players between now and the end of the transfer window, but they'll get decent crowds Nolan, Noble (and currently Parker) is an impressive midfield, they have goals in them, whether Piqueonne (sp), Carew or Cole and Green is decent enough to build a sound defence on.

And even if Fat Sam does implement his route one anti-football tactics, it wouldn't be enough to stop them against th emajority of teams in the league.

I think this league will be really competitive this year, West Ham and Leicester (With the money they have spent) should be favorites and need to go up due to the wage bills they will have

Blackpool and Forest might be in amongst it I also think Boro might have a decent season

Think they've played some nice stuff so far and it certainly hasnt been route one - they've played it along the ground, got good numbers forward, passed it nicely and showed good movement.

I agree that they should win this league at a canter and Allardyce, whatever people think of him, isnt wet behind the ears - he knows what he's doing.

Robert Green lets the shot go through his hands. Great result for Cardiff, although Dave Jones didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

Sven has spent a lot of cash on some good players. I think them and West Ham will go up automatically. Then it's just a lottery.

Leicester will do well I think. Obviously West Ham should do well but I think they lack the cynical heart of a typical Alladyce team at the minute.

If Southampton can spend some of this Oxlade Chamberlain money on 2 or 3 good players then they might be up around the play offs

Can't see them scoring enough goals to get in the play offs. Mid table for them I think.

Steve McLaren's Nottingham Forest have failed to register a single shot on target in his first two league games at the club ...

Hahahahahaha[breathes]

Sorry, I haven't finished.

So, they spend 1.2m on Ishmael Miller who managed one goal in the whole of last season.

[deep breath]Hahahahaha.

When they were down to 9 men after 48 mins they only conceded 2 more goals. The two players that walked must have been a right pair of poulsens

Terrible challenge, but clearly nothing wrong with him to jump up and run about like that. Yellow card? Not sure.

They are unbeaten in 10, if I am not mistaken, and they even sold one of their better players Beausejour to Wigan.

What happens to them will depend if Raymond can really step up week in and week out and if they can keep their strikers King and Zigic healthy.

Sure i heard Caldwell was the 26th member of the squad to leave from the CC Cup winning team. He has done a very good job

Yes Ridgewell was a good player for them but he left for WBA. They are decent side and with little bit of luck and if they stay healthy they may be able to qualify for play-offs.

Wilson is having a poor game so far.

Are they on loan or did we sell them?

We sold Ince to them but Danny Wilson is on loan.

Was poor for Hull City's goal and needed Baptiste to carry him a bit, think Coates could be the one to look out for.

Fancy Watford to sneak into the playoffs, only 6 points behind and hitting some real form.

I quite like West Ham and would normally want them back up, but with that cunt at the helm I want them to fail badly

Fuck him.

It'll be nice to have Southampton back.

Fat Sam was hilarious last week. Sky were interviewing him about the fans turning against him despite them still being in the hunt for automatic promotion.

They said they accused him of not playing the 'West Ham way'. When they asked him what that was he said "I have no idea...losing?".

Haha I heard about that - he is clueless.

He continually waffles on about the "perception" of his football, and it being different to the reality. Who is he trying to kid? We've all seen his teams play and that's the end of the matter!

He's such an idiot. He plays the worst kind of pub style hoof ball yet tries to pass it off as a 'brand' of football when everyone can see it's just "Kick the fuck out of the opposition and balloon it up field".

My best mate is a huge west ham fan and hates the way they play. He says its basically 4-5-1 lump the ball to the big man and hope for a goal. If they start a game with a reasonably offensive team they resort back to 4-5-1 hoof ball the minute they get a goal...
