I’m with Shearer.

Henderson has been our best player of the season. He offers intangibles as well as ability. The desire hunger and leadership is all him. He sets the standards. When we are in the shit and not playing well it is Hendo that drags us out of it.

There was a great interview with Hendo and Virgil after the battle gains the Wolves and you only had to look at how drenched in sweat Hendos shirt was compared to Van Dijk (who was superb that night) to realise the shift Hendo had put in.

He has been note important then Mane and Van Dijk and Salah and definitely more important than Trent. And consider how important I think those three are.

I think the key with Jordy this season, is that Klopp has turned him into a believer. He’s been outstanding

If you were real Madrid or Barcelona Manager then you'd certainly go for the 3 you mentioned if you needed players in those positions.

I do think that Henderson has been a really good leader of the team this season though. And he has possibly got a few % improvement in a few players around him. That can be huge.

Well he's above two of them in the player of the season Morse runs.

And as Buzzo suggests, much of his best work goes unnoticed and can't be measured in goals and assists but anybody who captains Liverpool to their first league title in 30 year, performing at the level he is, surely has to be a leading contender for POTY.

We wouldn't be where we are without Henderson this season.

Same can be said for 5 or so other players. This will quickly turn into a bashing thread so probably best to say Henderson will be a deserving CL and PL winning legend captain in LFC history.

Quite a lot of positive Hendo stuff here.

Actually Tracksuit Tim of all people sums him up quite well during a fantastic rant about how awesome Hendo is.

I don't get it, surely the assist was Trent

But I think that it was Origi getting the 4th goal and putting us through that set Henderson up for later...

Brilliant again from Hendo.

For me, he is the reason we win these tough games. He is relentless.

Saturday was 6 years and one week since we battered Arsenal with that fantastic start. Henderson is the only player left from that squad!

This (Proper extended Hendo love in) illustrates how good he has become. If our forwards (and Sadio in particular) weren't so shit he'd be on about a dozen assists

He's so good at flicking the ball away in a tackle in a one on one. He produced a perfect example on full time tonight after he'd relentlessly closed down about 4 midfielders.

He's got very narrow shoulders hasn't he?

I hate that shirts and t-shirts are always made to an assumed broad shouldered athletic type.

Hah I remember that vividly. What a game. I have a bad memory so it stands out for some reason.

Being a southerner I have plenty of Arsenal mates and move worked for a company of 8 where everyone supported Arsenal. I have a distinct dislike for the club! The Mellor goal commentary used to be my ring tone back in the 2000s while working there.

They were also all 6 foot+ and called me dwarf boy, but Ill save that for therapy.

Er anyway back to Hendo. What a fucking season. Relentless is the word I shouldve used at the end of the game yesterday where I believe he had the last two tackles. Hes grown into the role as captain, but exceeded all expectations.

Every time he scores he celebrates the set up or the others in the team. Love the guy.

I watched with my neighbour, first game for ages, and he's still berating him. Yesterday it was for not moving the ball quickly enough and a stray pass. Totally ignored the looped pass to Mo that Mo crossed and Bobby missed. Totally ignored anything else that Hendo did that was positive. Really weird
