There's two crackin' lineups tomorrow. Harrington/Montgomerie v Woods/Furyk and Clarke/Westwood v Mickelson/DiMarco. Both should be crackin games.

Was there yesterday and saw Ray Houghton slumming it with the rest of us plebs

I can't wait. I'm going to get up extra early. Hopefully Mony and Harrington show Furyk and Woods how match play should be played. The only draw back is that I've got work tomorrow.

That's where it's won but you can't beat getting points on the board early. If Monty and harrington can take the point against Woods and Furyk then the doubt will set in very early for the Yanks as it did when the same pairing beat Woods & Mickleson last time.

You should be in when Clarke and Westwood take on Mickelson ad DiMarco which should be good!

With the players he has at his disposal we should be as competetive as ever but when you look at the Yanks they're equally as strong, if not stronger!! I think we can win this though just like we have the previous 2 Ryder Cups.

To be fair I never thought that Langer would have been as inspirational as Torrance but he helped us to win it last time. All of the captains have different qualities and I'm sure Woosnam has some that some of the others before him didn't and at the end of the day it's not down to the captains it's down to the players.

Faldo is to be our next Ryder cup captain and that concerns me because most of the European team think he's a dick.

I can't believe that Luke Donald is not in one of our first pairings though. He should have played alongside Paul Casey.

You'll be proved right though. Two Paddys will play together before the weekend is out. And there probably will be a gimmicky thing thrown in there somewhere too

According to Ryder Cup radio, Cink overhits his shot, it hits a camera on a crane behind the green and is stuck between the camera mans feet

What's the attraction?

OK thanks bazza. I see what you mean about how quick things can change - it's why I like watching cycling. I don't understand why people are anti-American though.

I believe that Mark Twain captured it perfectly when he described golf as a good wank ruined.

Well it's a bit of sporting theatre innit.

It's also good to see individuals, who compete against each other constantly, uniting and playing as a team. Also the crowd get to play their part, which in golf is unique; rather than merely applauding players or whooping every now and again for their particular favourite, the crowd roar their approval for their team of choice, adding to the theatre as huge roars regularly go up all over the course.

There's been some incredible drama in Ryder Cups gone by but a non golf fan is never really gonna be able to get into it.
