I like the idea of promoting someone from the youth setup to replace him as 4th choice but who?

Hoever is probably most likely, but things seem to have gone quiet on him?

One other factor is we're losing some experience in the squad with Lallana and Lovren already gone. I think if the Thiago link is true it's probably partly to address that.

For that reason perhaps we'd still look at an experienced 4th choice CB to help add to that?

Think we need experience to help “bring up” Joe but also cos Matip is sadly so injury prone.

Agree.
Our 4th choice CB will easily be our 2nd choice game starter due to the fragility of matip and gomez.

He's gone according to various outlets this afternoon...all the best, Degsy! Feeling we will come up against him in the CL next season

Is Ben White an option? Haven’t seen him play but read good things (and we’ve been linked).

BHA won't sell him; he will either stay at Leeds or be part of BHA squad next season

There's a guy who would be regretting his move since!

Not sure will we spend mega bucks on a new center back to be 3rd or 4th choice.

A left footed centre back who can also play left back would be ideal. Nathan Ake perhaps?? We could call him Purple.

End of an era. Adam and Dejan were the last links to Rodgers right?

In terms of signings from Rodgers’ era Gomez, Milner and Bobby are all still here.
And not his signing, but Henderson played throughout Rodgers time too.

Oh yes, I forgot that Milner, Bobby and Joe were signed during the Rodgers era.

He cost £20m - was on around £100k p/w on average for the past 6 years so £30m in salary. We sell him for £10m

Hoever or Phillips are the only real candidates surely? I imagine that Phillips will be sold, and Hoever would have at least been on the bench and given a few minutes if we were planning to promote him to 4th choice. So I imagine we will be looking to sign someone.

Yeah, what has happened to Hoever?...it's like he has fallen off a cliff as haven't seen him around the first team squads since we came back from the lockdown.

Uncanny

Quote:
Ki-Jana Hoever, the young Liverpool defender, is in hospital after falling off a cliff in Dorset.

The 18 year old Dutchman was walking with family and friends above Hive Beach, near Burton Bradstock, when he lost his footing and fell 30 feet.

He is recovering in hospital and his injuries are not serious.

Nice interview from Dejan. Finishing with this.

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me in bad moments, on the worst days, and in the best moments. You saw me crying, you saw me smiling but you know I left everything on the pitch. Also around the pitch I tried to be the best member of the club to show that I really care for the people, for the Liverpool supporters. I hope you are happy with that. Like I said, I will always be a Red – you have a new supporter now from Croatia. Thank you again and see you soon.
