Who knows - maybe that mini break thing will serve us well into next season

We tend to be a team that relies on momentum, when that is broken it can take us a while to get going again. Also for 7 of those games we had nothing to play for.

Does this season count as a treble? I suppose technically it does despite it not being the CL, league and FA Cup.

It does, but would not hold much weight here, due to the tendency to favour domestic cups.

City have been really impressive post-lockdown averaging 3 goals per game but it's one of those things... their matches are completely irrelevant, in the background and the pressure's off. I just find teams turning up to play them cant be arsed you need to be really fired up to play City; there's alot of work that needs to be done off the ball and I think alot of the smaller clubs just write the game off and save legs for next game. I think with us, there's the motivation of beating the champions that teams use to spur themselves on. City, obviously also have the CL to keep them motivated, otherwise I think their output would be similar to us.

Yes i agree the CL has kept their focus up; also they were banking on the FA cup too; they had plenty to keep them motivated throughout.

i also agree other teams raise the white flag as they depart the coach at the Ethiad.....

Interesting. It's often said that the form of a team at the end of a season is a good indicator of how they'll perform in the next. However, this has been a weird season.

If I was Crook's family member I'd be worried about Crook's mental state if he DIDN'T pick Maguire. As long as he's consistent we know he's 'normal'.

From Garth

Maguire, on the other hand, actually carried Manchester United until Bruno Fernandes burst onto the scene. Not to acknowledge Maguire's contribution to United's top-four achievement would have been an outrage. That is why I have selected the England centre-back in my team of the season.

Going to be a busy day on the BBC sport website today :O)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/53487983

Our first vote will be getting underway shortly, so here's a look at the awards on offer today:

Manager of the season
Young player of the season
Surprise player of the season
Player of the season
You'll have a couple of hours to vote for each, while the vote for our final award of the day - the player of the season - will be open until its reveal at the very end.

We'll also have various alternative award debates in among all of that, so don't go anywhere!

Hopefully the Liverpool vote wont get diluted

On the shortlist are:

Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
Sadio Mane (Liverpool)
Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City)

Definitely. But I still enjoyed the day we won it without playing far more than the trophy lift. When we won it I couldn't get my head around it and sort of combusted (mainly combustible booze ).

I think the sky coverage done a huge disservice to the display they put on. Surely they would have known of these fantastic long shots?!

Those photos are unreal- getting goosebumps here!

You can imagine if it wasn’t for the “bullshit virus” there would have been hundreds of thousands outside the stadium enjoying the fireworks, would have been some party! next year!!!

I enjoyed both but yeah that first night was class. I remember realising I didn’t have enough booze at half time on the Chelsea city game and having to run up to the shops!
