Nice drop that.

You can drink beer all day long in Munich and not get hungover, well certainly not like you do in the UK anyway - No chemicals just yeast hops and water.

I can attest to this being untrue. I went to Oktoberfest in 2013 and did not feel well for much of it.

Yeah, think it's a myth. I've been hungover as fuck on the best and the worst.

Though I do think its slightly worse on beer that has the shitty chemically taste, drinking pure doesn't eliminate the effect.

Interesting quotes from Jurgen, particularly his view on Spurs potential struggles with WC players.

Quote:
Jürgen Klopp has said the increasing demands of international football has to stop or clubs will have to “collect the bones” of players throughout the season.

The Liverpool manager had to order Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold to take a post-World Cup holiday after the England internationals requested an early return to pre-season training. Henderson and Dejan Lovren, a World Cup finalist with Croatia, are likely to miss the Premier League opener against West Ham United on 12 August due to their late returns.

Klopp has no issues with the World Cup – although believes it could have a serious impact on Tottenham Hotspur’s start to the new campaign – but the introduction of the Uefa Nations League in place of international friendlies is a concern. The new competition commences on 6 September, with the finals taking place next June, and the Liverpool manager believes the constant demand on international players will have serious consequences.

He argued: “I don’t want to get too football political but if they don’t stop with these games – they are now making it the Nations League to make it more important – then all these players who played at the World Cup have to go there again (in September). I don’t understand that 100%. We had four players in the semis which is okay, we can deal with that. Tottenham had nine players in the semis. I have no clue how they will do it. That’s a big challenge. It’s a really tough thing to deal with and in the future we have to change it. We have to change it. They play the World Cup, then the Nations League, next summer is the final of the Nations League which is really crazy. Everything is now so important in football and we have to collect their bones afterwards, more or less.”

Henderson and Alexander-Arnold both asked to resume pre-season training shortly after their World Cup commitments with England but their requests were rejected by the Liverpool manager.

Klopp explained: “It was a hard fight to convince Jordan that he needed a holiday. I knew that would happen. He feels like he needs training every day, a bit like Millie (James Milner). On the phone I said: ‘That’s crazy’. Jordan needs a holiday so that means August 5 he will be back. Dejan played a day later and had a party in Croatia so he will be back on August 6. That would mean five days training after three weeks holiday. I hope we are in a situation where we don’t need to think about using these two against West Ham.

“With Trent I have a special agreement. He wanted to be in earlier as well. As he’s very young I said: ‘Okay, have two weeks holiday and then we’ll speak and see’. If you asked Trent he would be good to join us in Evian (where Liverpool have a training camp at the end of July) but I’m not sure I will do that. I want to have them desperately but the season is really long. We have three games before the first international break. Then it will be the Nations League. So it’s getting more important. Very nice, very funny! It will be difficult to involve them against West Ham but I don’t want to make that line up today.”

The attitude of the players wanting to come back and get going again for us is refreshing to see, must be some real good honest competition for places at the club which is brilliant to see.

Not surprised about Hendo wanting to get straight back to it.

Fantastic. Henderson will be rightly worried about his place in the side, but you suspect he'd be like this anyway whether we'd bought Fabinho or not.

It makes sense to rest them though otherwise they'll be knackered in the second half of the season. I think that this season being able to rotate and keep players fresh without a drop of quality

What a manager we have.

Alisson, Van Dijk, Ox-Chambo, Keita.

All desperate to play for the club because of this man.

He needs to back it up with trophies now but it will happen with the squad he's put together. I still can't believe he's ours tbh. This is the best time to be a Red since 08-09, and even then the fans were still bickering about some issues. It's so good to be completely unified and all fucking buzzing. What a ride this is.

Its been too long since we've won anything and I agree with should be winning, but its going to be used by talksport, other fans to attempt to crank up the pressure.

Such fine margins I think pinning everything on trophies is wrong.

Is 90 points finishing second to city and losing to Real/PSG in CL final better or worse than League Cup win and 75 points?

We are clearly on the right path and as you say time to enjoy the ride as a fanbase. I think the removal of Karius has pretty much took the only issue for fans to turn on each other off the table as well.

what a wondrous time to support the reds

Oh I totally agree - it's about the trajectory really and you take stock at the end of the season. I've got mates of rival clubs going "if he doesn't win a trophy this season he should be sacked"

Ok mate.

Trophies would clearly be amazing, and hopefully they will come. It feels like a strong squad we have put together. It feels like a significant move from us over the last 2 summers.

I like everything about the current set up. The manager and the players are great. We dont seem to have any twats or egos that I'd struggle to fully get behind (Utd, with Mourinho, Alexis and Pogba would be horrendous).

Good times.

I do think that we really need to win a trophy to get that off his back, but also for the team to get over that psychologically.
