Poorly man managed , played every major game of the last two seasons.

If he doesn't be careful we got the next Jermaine Pennant looked brilliant as a youngster but that is as good as it was.

Still cant get over the England incident when he was too tired and we all backed him as one of our own but starting to show he looks like he only cares about himself and no matter what you think football is a team game.

No. He's been handled the same way as Henderson and Coutinho.

He owes everything to Brendan ... he was just another kid with promise a couple of seasons ago and Brendan put a huge amount of faith in him and backed him the the hilt time in and time again, and he grew into a first team player quite fast, but initially it was a very ballsy move my Bdog to put him in the squad week in week out

Such is his quality. He's a great player and deservedly started those games (not so much recently, granted). I don't think it's down to poor man management (Rodgers gave him permission to go to Jamaica when all this started in the press) - he's just a good player and was vital to the way we were playing.

To be fair, if he wasn't good then he'd not have got a look in. Could easily be argued that we've benefitted from a £40m player on the cheap for the last two seasons.

IMO its all about the money with hima and his agent. He only 'wants out' to scare us into paying 150k minimum. If we don't he'll expect at least that much from the next club.

For example he won't go to Bayern for 90k (because that's all they'll pay him, they're no mugs). The Qataris at City will sneeze up another sponsor and give him (and Aidy) what he wants.

IMO it isn't all about money for Sterling at least, it's all about his agent. It may be a naive view but I think Sterling is being played. He puts too much trust in Ward for advice and Ward has been manipulating him/the situation for months, telling him he could have more money, bigging him up, telling him (and the press) that the top clubs are interested and that he will be a regular there and win trophies, unsettling him by telling him he can have everything he wants and more if he moves. The main driving factor behind this is Ward and the fact that getting a move for Sterling nets him a good few million quid and establishes him and his new company.

I'd love to sell this prick
I'd even take 35 mill from bayern
If he does go to English club it would be city for me - can't hate city as much as others for some reason.
City 40 mill then get him sold

I dont agree ... I think there are lots of young players who could have made the jump over the years but they never got a look in, he was in the right place at the right time with the right manager in place

I am over his bullshit already .... I will never forgive him for that fucking interview

Nah hes trouble ... sure if he sticks around and bangs in some goals then great but ... I personally I do not like the way he threw his team under the fucking bus just before the biggest game of the season ... Great player ... but all of this bullshit is no surprise I expected it .. and sure enough here it is again ... and if he does stick around we'll have it again sooner rather than later

He was shit when he first came into the team. And Rodgers copped a ton of shit on forums for sticking with playing him. Rodgers can be blamed for a lot of things, but this Sterling situation is not one of them.

Still. not surprising when you have people blaming Rodgers for players who shite rags like Daily Mail, Star etc are linking us with.

Sky showing him being heckled by Liverpool fans leaving the training ground today. Don't agree with that tbh.

even if he is on his way out, at the moment he is still one of us, and we shouldn't boo one of our own.

Sell to Citeh for £40m with a £5m buy back clause which we'll be able to exercise after he spends the next 18 months on their bench.

Another winger to add to their ranks. Will keep Januzaj happy when not missing open goals.

As long as Utd enter and raise the bidding to 50m+ I'm happy with their involvement.

Guardian article

Quote:
Manchester United have made a sensational attempt to capitalise on Raheem Sterling’s contract stand-off with Liverpool by registering their interest in the wantaway England international.

Despite completing the £25m transfer of the PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay this week, and the acceptance that Liverpool are highly unlikely to sell a key player to their fierce north-west rivals, United have inquired about Sterling’s availability in anticipation of him agitating for a move from Anfield this summer.

The 20-year-old and his representative, Aidy Ward, are due to meet the Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, and chief executive, Ian Ayre, on Friday and are expected to confirm the club’s long-held suspicions that he will push for a lucrative transfer this summer.

Irrespective of that push, Liverpool informed United that their second highest goalscorer this season – with 11 goals – is not for sale at any price.

Whether that will deter United from returning with an offer that will tempt Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool’s owner, to sanction a move that would stun not only both clubs’ supporters but the wider football world remains to be seen and also, at this stage, highly unlikely.

Manchester City are primed to take advantage of Sterling’s desire to leave Liverpool and are willing to pay the winger around £150k a week to entice him to the Etihad Stadium as part of their drive to recruit young British talent this summer.

But, as with their city rivals, it would take an extravagant bid to tempt Liverpool who have Sterling under contract until 2017 and are currently minded to hold him to his £35,000-a-week deal until next summer.

FSG, who have asked Rodgers to lead a review into this season’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, showed with Luis Suárez and Arsenal in 2013 that they are unwilling to sell to a Premier League rival and have informed United that is the situation with Sterling.
