Liverpool vs Napoli- Champions League (Group Game 5)

UK Time: Wednesday 27th November at 8:00pm

Perth Time: 28th November at 4:00am
QLD Time: 28th November at 6:00am
NSW/VIC Time: 28th November at 7:00am
Live on Optus Sports

-------------------

This is it!

A win tonight will see us top the group and be able to field a weaker team away to Salzburg, pretty handy considering in the following three matches we play Watford in the league, Villa in the League Cup then we're into the Club World Cup.

I don't care how we get over the line, let's get the three points and prepare for Brighton at home.

Aye, Napoli seem to be in disarray with their civil war against the owners so will have an effect on their morale.

We can take advantage of that & get the 3pts to wrap up the top spot which will enable us to go easy in that last game vs Salzburg.

Hoping for a full mutiny...

Quote:
Napoli midfielder Allan has reportedly been ordered to pay 50 per cent of his monthly salary back to the club as punishment for the training camp mutiny has begun.

After their Champions League draw with RB Salzburg earlier this month, Carlo Ancelotti's men refused to go on the training retreat organised by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis which has led to a civil war inside the Naples club.

Allan has been hit with a 171 million fine for his row with vice-president and De Laurentiis' son Edo, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Insigne is a big loss for them. He must be annoying to play against, all elbows and late movement in the box

We just need a win by any method necessary, preferably with little effort!

Hate playing these fuckers. It's a different game at Anfield though and they seem to be in disarray.

Get an early goal and their heads might drop given their recent struggles.

Could really do with boxing this group off so we can rest players in the last game.

I've got a feeling these fuckers will turn up & be up for it

We'll need to be at our best

Their last 6 matches in all comps, they've drawn 5 and lost 1. An early goal could cause heads to drop. Hopefully we will be fully focused and put them to the sword.

Does Salah start? I'd have him on the bench and start with Origi.

I am sure JK said Salah was fit, he has had a few weeks off, we need the win, so I reckon he will start.

...and I'd imagine Klopp will want him to get back to match sharpness asap... so I reckon he'll start and be replaced on 65-70 mins...

Salah will surely start tomorrow.

Really hope we beat these fuckers, not just to win the group and qualify and be in a position to rest players against Salzburg but also to get revenge on the loss away.

Bonus if it means they get eliminated at the same time.

We only need to draw don't we? Sometimes I wonder if we target 2nd place so that we get a tougher draw and can eliminate a big gun before they gain momentum

I just checked and if RB Salzberg win tonight and beat us they'd be on 10pts with a better GD so we need 2pts to be safe

Win tonight it is

Win tonight and we win the group- that has to be the aim. Then we can play the reserves away to Salzburg- any opportunity to rest players needs to be taken so we go 100% at this tonight

Proper banana skin tonight’s game. We really need to be on our game to get a result. Fingers crossed we squeak through.

Nope. We need a win to guarantee we win the group and go through.

A draw would mean we have to get at least a draw against RB and I'd prefer if we could rest a bunch of players knowing even a defeat wouldn't affect our status as group winners in any way

If RB draw or lose then we go through automatically

Shame they don't have an earlier kick off as we could simply knock it about knowing we're through!

Think wed still be fighting tonight, to finish top.. Its such a difference topping the group and getting a (relatively) handy game next

I might be wrong, but if we beat Napoli.....and then Red Bull beat our kids in 2 weeks time.....doesn't that put Napoli out of the Champions League?

Which is fine by me obviously......but you can just see it leading to Man City drawing Red Bull Salzburg in the next round and essentially getting a free pass into the quarter finals

Free pass against Red Bull?...after the way they played?...most likely to cause them problems against their backline!
