I actually think, if offered it, Rafa would jump at the chance to move 'home'.

Thankfully, I think the fucktards would rather offer it to a lesser manager to avoid the fume.

not in a million years imo. While he remains a manager I am sure he will always harbour a hope he can become our manager again.

Former Everton manager Ronald Koeman says the failure to sign Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this summer contributed to his sacking.

Koeman was dismissed on Monday with Everton third from bottom in the Premier League.

He claims France international Giroud, 31, was on the verge of agreeing a move to Goodison Park.

"I had Olivier Giroud in the building," said Koeman. "That was hard to swallow."

He told Dutch football magazine Voetbal International: "That would have been perfect but he decided he'd rather live in London.

"You tell me where you can get a better striker."

Everton sold Romelu Lukaku, their leading scorer for the past four seasons, to Manchester United in July in a deal worth an initial £75m.

"Lukaku was important to us, not only because of his goals, but because of his way of playing - strong, quick, direct," said Koeman.

"There was always the option of the long ball to him. Now we missed such a player, we had Nicola Vlasic and Wayne Rooney, players who want the ball in to feet."

Everton spent £150m on players over the summer, including midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson for £45m, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for £30m, defender Michael Keane for £30m and midfielder Davy Klaassen for £24m.

Dutchman Koeman added: "We sold Lukaku for £90m. Our most expensive purchase, the Icelander Gylfi Sigurdsson, cost half.

"It's a lot of money, but in England you work in a world of different numbers. Players here all cost a lot more than they are actually worth. That's how the market works."

To be fair to Koeman Giroud would have really helped them.

So Koeman has been sacked then!

I saw comments in this thread about who people thought would be their next manger, but i thought it was in jest, or maybe in anticipation.

Heard Unsworth today, and thought..wtf!

Just saw this now for the first time. I know he's hated by Benfica and Valencia fans, they think he's an awful manager and person. Valencia hate him in particular, he almost got relegated despite having Silva, Mata, Villa, Joaquin, Albiol, Banega and other great players. Apparently Miguel and Vicente did a second team talk and revamped tactics before they got on the pitch because he'd just tell them who was starting and say 'good luck'. These things sometimes get exaggerated but sometimes you do wonder. He also did the same thing to Albelda, Angulo and Cañizares at Valencia telling the media that they couldn't train with the squad and wouldn't be selected. I know they were past their best at the time, but those 3 were at one point fantastic players and had tons of appearances at the club.

He did well at Southampton, but I don't like him as a manager or a person. It's a pity he didn't stay at Everton a bit longer. Unsworth hasn't exactly had a great first 60 minutes.

Beginning to get a bit excited this is the year! If they did go down I would celebrate for months and rub their faces in it relentlessly. They are a horrendous side, they dont have one good player, luckily for them there are other pitiful sides down there as thats the only way they can survive, being a tiny bit less shit than 3 others. They can pine all they want for Tuchel or Ancelotti, they aren't doing anything with that pile of shite. Infact I'd fucking love it if they got one of them, all that optimism just to come crashing down again just like "give it Unsy". They are gonna have to go begging to Allardyce I think.

They have an amazingly easy run until the derby.

Watford, Palace, Southampton, West Ham, Huddersfield. If they're still hovering around the relegation zone after that lot then they'll really be in trouble.

Barton's a big fan then.

During Commentary.

'He's a glorified PE teacher who shouldn't be in charge of a men's team,' the 35-year-old told talkSPORT. 'Look at him on the touchline, he's more like a steward.'

I watched him waddling on to the coach. How can you get players to exert themselves physically when you're out of shape?'

'I used to watch him as an Evertonian and he was the most immobile left back I've ever seen. He's not a manager and doesn't look like one.

'Unsworth makes Alan Brazil look like an athlete. I used to call him Chipper Unsworth because he used to chip it and lose it every time.

'I'm a firm believer that teams reflect their manager and Everton did today. They were sloppy.
