Cameron Smith is absolutely ridiculous. Double bogeys 1 and he's got a 4 footer on 16 to go -6. He's an incredible putter.

Your man Cam Smith is on fire Shaggy 7 birdies in 15 holes.
Make that 8 in 16

Haha yeah. Early days and a big ask to win the Players and this (only Tiger's done it) but I suspect he's not going anywhere.

I love how he's not a Tiger clone, ripped etc. Looks like a regular fella (albeit from 1980) from the club. Shame about his double on 18 - pretty remarkable to DB both 1 and 18 and still shoot 68. He makes so many birdies it's nuts. Think he's the only guy ever to shoot 4 rounds in the 60s at the Masters.

Tough day yesterday!
Can't see Scheffler throwing it away from here. I thought he couldn't win after winning 3 of his last 5. Unsustainable, I thought. He's absolutely on fire.

It’s half way in the Masters - 5 shot lead is nothing…… he’s looked good but all to play for still. I’ll have to throw a few quid on Lowry now

Anything could happen but I don't think anyone's lost the Masters from 5 in front with 36 to go. Doesn't happen too often though - Spieth was the last to have a 5 shot lead at this stage in 2015. Smith still has a squeak imo.

Really - I’d have thought there were a few - McIlroy blew a huge lead, Speith, Norman and more. I still fancy DJ

Someone said it on TV last night so I assumed the collapses you mention are framed as final round blow ups - eg Rory led by 4 going into the final round, Norman led by 6 after 54, etc - and specifically everyone at the 36 hole point with a 5 shot lead or better has gone on to win.

Watching in America and the coverage is embarrassing. If you didn't know better, you'd think Woods was the only guy playing. They couldn't crawl further up his arse if they tried

Thursday/Friday coverage has been surprisingly good here. Seems Augusta are allowing a lot more shots to be shown.
Less scenic views with music, interviews, inane chat and pretty much wall to wall golf on the red button.

He covered the bet - should’ve gone each way on the Irish McIlroy had two chip ins and a monster putt, Lowry had 7 birdies but also a triple! Scotty S just carefully made his way round…….

He literally describes sports-washing in that top clip. And his desire to be part of it and help them do it.

The way they're all jumping ship now he must be licking his lips at the thought of absolutely cleaning up at all the Majors
I saw the Hulk and Johnson have jumped over now too.

Aside from the obvious issues relating to Saudi's, I don't understand the whole concept.
Where are they going to play? Surely no PGA/Euro courses will let them play tournaments there? So they're stuck playing in the Middle East?

Golf courses are privately owned aren’t they, guess the risk is the tours remove them as destinations but if the money is right I doubt they’ll care
Centurion they’re playing this week is a new(ish) course in the same style as Queenwood which effect doesn’t exist as a golf course they make it so exclusive

Same, I only realised this morning that the tournament is a different format?
I hope the media keep on them long term with the human rights abuse questions, as the platitudes they are responding with will not work forever. The future success surely requires press buy in at some point.
Greed.

It's 3 rounds rather than 4 isn't it? An absolutely wild change in format, not sure how they came up with it
edit: it's a little more different than that to be fair https://www.livgolf.com/format

Radical. They mentioned something about everyone teeing off at once also?
Like the start of the Le mans grand prix?

Haha I had no idea they were fucking with the format like that. What a joke. It'll surely die on its arse.

Something like this?
Rule 2.
i. Field is split into teams of 4 players.
ii. Players choose 1 (one) selected club from golf bag.
ii. Players wield selected club as weapon and commence fight to death towards nominated tee. Maximum 3 competitors.
iii. Survivors commence match play.
iiii. Additional point(s) if random political prisoner harmed on way to tee.

I think you could cave someone's head in fairly swiftly with one decisive blow, especially those funky spiky looking ones they use now, but even the pointy end of a Scotty Cameron would do the trick. Bryson and other long putter users may have to adjust their fighting stance to get the correct purchase however
